Dogz and Catz/Basic Care

From StrategyWiki, the free strategy guide and walkthrough wiki

In this game you need to look after your dog. Your pet has five status metres, which you can check by clicking on the dog or cat icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Depending the breed's personality, one of your pet's needs may drop quicker than others.

Contents

[edit] Feeding

Feed your pet when it gets hungry.

Go to "My Stuff" and click on the food you want to give your pet. The more expensive the food is, the higher their hunger need goes! If you run out of food, be sure to visit the Store or your pet will go hungry!

[edit] Water

Give your pet water if it gets thirsty.

If your pet gets thirsty, do the same as with feeding your dog; go to My Stuff and click on a bottle of water to quench your pet's thirst. Labradors tend to slobber, so this need will drop quicker for them.

[edit] Affection

Stoke your pet and it will love you.

There is one sure fire way to make your pet love you; show it affection. Do this by stroking it with the mouse. You can also play with your pet with toys from the Store to gain it's affection.

[edit] Grooming

There are two ways to groom your pet. The first is by using a brush. You can purchase one from a large variety from the store. Then click on it in My Stuff and you can brush your pet. The second way is to give your pet a bath. This has more effect than brushing but also uses up a bottle of shampoo (which you can purchase from the Store) every time you bathe them. Use the mouse to rub your pet and then, when they are clean, click on the house icon to return to the room.

[edit] Alertion

Your pet needs to sleep if you want it to have enough energy to play!

For some reason, "Alertion" is used instead of "energy" in this game. If your pet is getting tired, go to the Playroom and click on the pet bed, and your pet will take a nap. But this doesn't work if your pet is already full of energy! If you want, you can buy other pet beds from the Store.

[edit] Clearing up mess

If your pet does a "mess" on the floor, make sure you clean it up!

Although if your pet decides to do a "mess" on the floor it has no affect on it's needs, it makes the room look less clean. You don't gain much by doing it, but you can clean up the "mess" by clicking on it.
