Dogz and Catz/Getting Started

When you play the game for the first time, you can select New Puppy or New Kitten to choose your pet, Options to change settings, or Quit if you want to go out of the game. After you have got a dog or cat, the options Play and Load Puppy or Load Kitten will become available.
In the game, the only control used is 
, for navigating menus and calling your pet.
[edit] New Puppy or New Kitten
This is the only option which takes you into the game when you play for the first time. Click on the New Puppy or New Kitten button to be taken to the breed selection menu.
Select a breed by clicking on it, and then you can choose what fur colour your pet will have. Later in the game you can buy different fur colours from the store to give your pet that modern look!
Choose whether they are male or female, pick a collar for them to wear, and then the certificate will appear on-screen. Type the name for your new pet onto the certificate, and then your puppy or kitten will appear in the back yard, waiting to be played with!
 Select a breed of dog or cat to care for. Find out about their personality to find out how they behave or if they'll need extra attention! |

 There are three fur colours for each breed. Choose your favourite, but if you change your mind later you can always purchase new fur patterns from the store. |
 Put your pet's name on the certificate and you're ready to play! The certificate also shows what your pet's stats are. |
There five breeds of cat or dog you can have altogether;
- Dogz
- Beagle
- Border Collie
- German Shepherd
- Labrador Retriever
- Pug
- Catz
- Abyssinian
- Bengal
- Burmese
- Maine Coon
- Siamese
[edit] Load Puppy or Load Kitten
If you already have some cats or dogs and want to swap the one who you are currently looking after for one of your others, click on Load Puppy or Load Kitten. A list of all the dogs or cats you own will appear, and a symbol will hover over the one you currently have. There is no end to the list of dogs or cats you can own. Click on the pet you want to look after and click on select.
If you decided that you don't want to switch, click on back to return to the main menu. Also, if there is a pet that you don't really like very much and don't want them, click on them and then click on Delete. Just remember that you can't get them back once they are deleted, and all the money you had with them will be lost and you will loose all your items.

There are five things you can do in the Settings menu;
- Turn Tips on or off
- Change the pixels to adjust the quality of the screen
- Toggle Smoother Lines on or off
- Watch the Credits
- Adjust the sound volume
Click on Accept if you want to keep these new settings, or if you want to get rid of your changes then click Back instead.
