"Go on, feed me."

Troll Warlord is an agility hero who is usually played as a hard carry. He has the unique ability to switch between a ranged attack and melee attack at any time, each having their own advantages. His Whirling Axes also differ depending on his attack type, granting him a potent slow or a accuracy-reducing debuff. Being a carry, Troll Warlord can get a very high physical damage output from items and his two other abilities that increase his attack speed. Fervor gradually makes him attack faster against a single target, while Battle Trance dramatically increases the attack speed of every hero on his team. Troll Warlord is definately not a hero you want to feed, or you might end up turning him into an unstoppable force.

Abilities[edit]

Berserker's Rage[edit]

Dota 2 troll warlord berserkers rage.png
  • Ability: No Target, Toggle
  • Bonus Damage: 15
  • Bonus Move Speed: 20
  • Base Attack Time: 1.55
  • Bonus HP: 100
  • Bonus Armor: 3
  • Bash Chance: 10%
  • Bash Duration: 0.8 / 1.2 / 1.6 / 2.4
  • Bash Damage: 20 / 30 / 40 / 50

Berserker's Rage turns you from a ranged hero into a melee hero, and vice versa. Although you will lose the natural advantages that comes with a ranged attack, being in melee mode will give you bonus damage, movement speed, attack speed, health, armor, and the chance to Bash enemies with your attacks, dealing extra damage and mini-stunning. Usually you should stay in ranged form for last-hitting or chasing down distant enemies, but melee form is more effective for large battles where you will need the extra survivability and damage.

Whirling Axes[edit]

Whirling Axes has two different effects depending on your current attack type. They don't share cooldowns, so you can toggle between them if you need to.

Ranged[edit]

  • Ability: Target Point
  • Affects: Enemy Units
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Axe Damage: 75
  • Slow Duration: 3 / 3.75 / 4.5 / 5.25
  • Movement Slow: 30%
  • Mana Cost: 50
  • Cooldown: 20

When in ranged form, Whirling Axes will launch five axes forward in a cone formation, which will do minimal damage and slow enemies. Obviously, you won't ever use this to deal damage, only using it for the movement slow. A 30% decrease is quite significant, and can help you catch up to an enemy hero easily.

Melee[edit]

  • Ability: No Target
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 125 / 175 / 225 / 275
  • Radius: 450
  • Blind Duration: 4 / 5 / 6 / 7
  • Miss Chance: 60%
  • Mana Cost: 50
  • Cooldown: 12

When in melee form, Whirling Axes will make two axes circle you once, dealing damage and blinding any enemies nearby, making them miss attacks. This is your only ability that deals significant damage, though it's still relatively low and is quickly overtaken by your physical attacks once you get farmed enough. The blind effect is useful against other carries or any hero that engages you in general, as it reduces the damage you might take.

Fervor[edit]

Dota 2 troll warlord fervor.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Max Stacks: 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
  • Attack Speed Per Stack: 20

Fervor increases your attack speed for every attack you deal on the same target, though you will lose the buff if you target a different unit. It makes you very deadly at focusing down a single hero, especially if your damage has been buffed up by items.

Battle Trance[edit]

  • Ability: No Target
  • Trance Duration: 7
  • Attack Speed: 60 / 120 / 180
  • Mana Cost: 75
  • Cooldown: 30

Battle Trance temporarily increases the attack speed of himself and every allied hero on the map. More attack speed translates to more damage overall, so it is a very powerful buff, especially if your team has other strong physical damage-dealers. With a little coordination, you can focus down even the toughest strength heroes with the help of other Battle Tranced allies. It has a relatively low cooldown for an ultimate, so don't afraid to use it liberally.
