Alchemist is a melee strength hero who is usually played as a carry. He can get gold much faster than other heroes with his Goblin's Greed. He also has good damaging abilities with his Acid Spray and Unstable Concoction. In bad situations, Chemical Rage can turn the fight around.

Abilities[edit]

Acid Spray[edit]

Dota 2 alchemist acid spray.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Composite
  • Radius: 625
  • Duration: 16
  • Damage Over Time: 14 / 20 / 26 / 32
  • Armor Reduction: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
  • Mana Cost: 130 / 140 / 150 / 160
  • Cooldown: 22

Acid Spray creates a pool of acid over a wide area. Enemies entering the acidified area will slowly take damage while having their armor reduced. The damage dealt is composite damage, which is reduced by both armor and magic resistance. A good pushing as well as farming tool, it lets you kill off groups of creeps at once if they are all in the area, letting you get more out of Goblin's Greed. The armor reduction is also helpful during teamfights making strong agility heroes less durable.

Unstable Concoction[edit]

Dota 2 alchemist unstable concoction.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Max Stun: 1.75 / 2.5 / 3.25 / 4
  • Max Damage: 150 / 220 / 290 / 360
  • Mana Cost: 120
  • Cooldown: 16

Unstable Concoction makes you brew up a flask of volatile chemicals, which damages and stuns enemies when thrown. The longer he brews it the more damage and stun time the concoction will do. It reaches its maximum power after 5 seconds, but if you don't throw it after 5.5 seconds, it will explode on yourself, making you take all the damage and stunning yourself. When it explodes, even if it does that on you and kills you, all enemies within an 175 area of effect will also be affected by the effects With a 4 second max stun it can be a pretty scary nuke, and the splash effect can catch multiple enemies in one throw.

Unstable Concoction Throw[edit]

  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes

Throws the concoction at a targeted unit.

Greevil's Greed[edit]

Dota 2 alchemist goblins greed.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Recent Kill Window: 25
  • Base Bonus Gold: 4 / 6 / 8 / 10
  • Extra Bonus Gold: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

Goblin's Greed lets you get bonus gold from last-hitting creeps. For every creep you kill after the first you get more bonus gold for 20 seconds. You can get a maximum of 30 extra gold from a creep kill. Note that killing creeps doesn't lengthen the recent kill window. It will reset as soon as the 25 seconds end. You will likely only get the full 26 gold bonus if you manage to kill of an entire creep wave at a very short amount of time. Since you will always get more gold than other heroes, you can farm up your important items much faster.

Chemical Rage[edit]

Dota 2 alchemist chemical rage.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Duration: 25
  • Base Attack Time: 1.4 / 1.2 / 1
  • Bonus Health Regen: 50 / 75 / 100
  • Bonus Mana Regen: 3 / 7.5 / 12
  • Bonus Move Speed: 30 / 40 / 60
  • Mana Cost: 50 / 100 / 150
  • Cooldown: 45

Chemical Rage temporarily reduces your base attack time and increases your health, health regeneration, mana regeneration and move speed for 25 seconds. A basic self-buff that can help you survive longer and dish out a lot more damage. If you are out of battle and low on health, you can also use it to restore lost health, since the bonus regen will heal you back up. The mana regen it grants you is even enough to completely negate the mana needed to use it.
