Ursa is a melee agility hero who is usually played as a hard carry. He is notorious in public matches due to his high damage and difficulty to counter without coordination. Part of his high damage output comes from his Overpower and Fury Swipes. Overpower gives him greatly increased attack speed while Fury Swipes does more damage with repeated attacks on one target. Combining these 2 abilities together gives Ursa the power to do high burst damage with only physical attacks. He also has Earthshock to slow enemies down so he can get in range for his deadly swipes. He also has Enrage to give him even more physical damage based on his strength, which is probably why he isn't a strength hero in the first place. Let your guard down against an Ursa, and you will get shredded within seconds.

Abilities[edit]

Earthshock[edit]

Dota 2 ursa earthshock.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 90 / 140 / 190 / 240
  • Radius: 385
  • Slow: 25% / 35% / 45% / 55%
  • Mana Cost: 75
  • Cooldown: 6

Earthshock slams the ground around you, dealing damage and slowing nearby enemies for 4 seconds. It is a generic area of effect ability that rounds out Ursa's skillset nicely. The damage is relatively weak compared to other abilities, but the slow is quite valuable when you need to catch up to enemies due to your poor attack range.

Overpower[edit]

Dota 2 ursa overpower.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Attacks: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
  • Bonus Speed: 400
  • Mana Cost: 45 / 55 / 65 / 75
  • Cooldown: 10

Overpower grants you drastically increased attack speed for a few attacks. While simple in nature, it is extremely deadly in combination with Fury Swipes and damage increasing items. The high attack speed coupled with high damage can burn away a chunk of an enemy hero's hp in a matter of seconds.

Fury Swipes[edit]

Dota 2 ursa fury swipes.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Reset Time: 15
  • Damage Per Attack: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30

Fury Swipes makes consecutive attacks on one enemy do more damage. The bonus is lost if the enemy is not attacked for 15 seconds. Fury Swipes is a Unique Attack Modifier and doesn't stack with other Unique Attack Modifiers. This passive is one of the reasons why Ursa is a lethal powerhouse. The bonus damage will keep increasing as long as you keep attacking the same target, which makes focusing down enemy heroes an easy task.

Enrage[edit]

Dota 2 ursa enrage.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Health To Damage: 5% / 6% / 7%
  • Mana Cost: 0
  • Cooldown: 25

Enrage lets you do a portion of your current health as bonus damage for 15 seconds. It turns you into a pseudo-strength hero, since getting vitality boosting items will also increase the damage dealt when enraged. With these items combined with your relatively high base strength, you can become very difficult to kill while at the same time being a devastating killing machine.
