Dream Sequence[edit]

The game starts off with the protagonist, Miss Alex Roivas in a room containing a few zombies of Mantorok, armed with a shotgun. How you do this part is largely irrelevant, but it's always fun to blow the torsos off these shambling messes. After a minute or so, the game jumps to the introduction cut scene. As you see Alex awake, take note of the time on the clock: 3:33 as this is important for later. A brief phone call and plane flight later, Alex is in her family home on Rhode island, her grandfather dead, assumed murdered, and a lot of very confused police officers standing around with not a lot to go on.

Level Start[edit]

You start off in the main hall of the mansion. Walk straight forward to the desk between the stairs and examine the carriage clock. Here you will find the clock is stuck on the time 3:33 and a dresser key. This is not relevant until chapter four, but it's useful to pocket it now. Now head to the right and go through the door on the right hand wall to enter the study. Walk south towards the camera, and at the end of the room, head left into the smaller study area. In this area, approach the grandfather clock in the corner of room and examine it. When you are prompted to adjust the clock hands, do so and set the time to 3:33. Lo and behold, a secret passage appears. Enter the passage way and continue to the door.

Inside the door, Alex finds a secret study area, containing many different items and artifacts from all over the world. Most noticeable upon entering is the Tome of Eternal Darkness on the desk, and the Gladius sword hanging on the wall. Examine the Gladius to take it, before sitting down to read the Tome itself. Welcome to chapter 1
