Before you play, you have to choose the name, race and appearance of your character. That's all you specify; everything else (your skills, abilities and alignments) is developed in the game.

Races[edit]

There are six races for player characters. There are 3 free races: Human, Dwarven and Elven and 3 pay-to-play races: Draegoni, Orcan and Gnomish. There are currently no advantages or disadvantages to any of them other than books being available to give a combat bonus while fighting any of the 3 races. However, player combat is only allowed in some areas of the world so this can be easily avoided.
