Deimon Devil Bats[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Deimon Devil Bats.gif

The American football team representing Deimon High School, the initial three members were Yoichi Hiruma, Ryokan Kurita, and Gen Takekura. They were struggling for members until Hiruma recruited Sena. Since then, the number of players on the team has grown quite large. Hiruma is the captain of the team, also doubling as a quarterback and a coach, while Mamori acts as the team's manager. Eyeshield 21 is the star of the team, playing as the team's lightning-fast running back. His eyeshield makes sure nobody but a few on his team and even a few people on some other teams know his true identity.

Sena Kobayakawa[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Eyeshield.png
  • Jersey #: 21
  • Height: 5'1"
  • Weight: 106 lbs
  • Bench Press: 88 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.2 Seconds
  • Role: Running Back
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Eyeshield.png

Sena Kobayakawa (known on the field as Eyeshield 21) is a freshman at Deimon High School first recruited for the Devil Bats after Hiruma saw his lightning-fast speed. Thinking he would be able to compete with Shin of the Ojo White Knights, Hiruma didn't hesitate to threaten him into joining the team. Because Sena is easily bullied, he gives in quickly and becomes the running back of the team. His rival becomes Shin, due to the similar roles and running abilities of the two.

Yoichi Hiruma[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Hiruma.png
  • Jersey #: 1
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 147 lbs
  • Bench Press: 165 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.1 Seconds
  • Role: Quarterback
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Hiruma.png

Yoichi Hiruma is a sophomore at Deimon High School and acts as the captain of the school's American football team. He started the Devil Bats, but unfortunately, the sport doesn't seem to be very popular in Deimon High. His first experience with American football was when he witnessed American soldiers playing the sport, and had been intrigued ever since. He played a minor role for Mao Junior High's football team and started his own in high school. When he first meets Sena, he is in his second year at the school and immediately recruits him as the new running back. Hiruma is also the main tactician of the team, and usually leaves Eyeshield 21 for the final play of the game as a last resort.

Ryokan Kurita[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Kurita.png
  • Jersey #: 77
  • Height: 6' 5"
  • Weight: 319 lbs
  • Bench Press: 352 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 6.5 Seconds
  • Role: Center, Defensive Tackle, Offensive Tackle
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Kurita.png

Ryokan Kurita is a sophomore at Deimon High School and usually plays Center for the school's American football team, the Deimon Devil Bats. His role is not limited to Center, as he can go defensive as well. His tackles aren't very easily stopped. Kurita and Hiruma are the only active members of the team when Sena first joins. Despite his aggressiveness on the field, Kurita is actually a kind and caring person, opposite Hiruma, who has some demonic features and only cares about winning. He acts kind to Sena when he first joins the team as opposed to Hiruma's threats.

Mamori Anezaki[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Mamori.png
  • Jersey #: None
  • Height: 5' 4"
  • Weight: 106 lbs
  • Bench Press: 44 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: N/A
  • Role: Manager
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Mamori.png

Mamori Anezaki is Sena's over-protective childhood friend and a sophomore at Deimon High School. When Sena is being bullied, Mamori is usually the one to stand up for him. Because Hiruma tends to threaten and bully Sena, Mamori takes a quick disliking to him, telling Sena to stay away from him. This warning comes to no avail, since Sena is threatened into becoming Eyeshield 21 and the third official member of the Devil Bats. She later on becomes the manager of the Devil Bats, and, along with Hiruma, plans field tactics. She, Yukimitsu, and Hiruma make up the brainiest members of the Devil Bats.

Tairo Raimon[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Monta.png
  • Jersey #: 80
  • Height: 5' 1"
  • Weight: 112 lbs
  • Bench Press: 110 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.0 Seconds
  • Role: Wide Receiver, Cornerback
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Monta.png

Tairo Raimon (usually known as Monta) is the wide receiver of the Deimon Devil Bats and a freshman at Deimon High School. He was originally a member of the Deimon High School baseball team, best-known for his extraordinary catching skills. Unfortunately, his catching abilities did not save him from his horrendous throwing and batting skills, and he was kicked off of the team. He later on became a receiver for the Devil Bats American football team, noticing that each person only needed one specialty and didn't have to be exceptional at all positions. Sena recruited him for the team after seeing his catching, and the two quickly became friends.

Gen Takekura[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Musashi.png
  • Jersey #: 11
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 169 lbs
  • Bench Press: 220 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.6 Seconds
  • Role: Placekicker, Linebacker
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Musashi.png

Gen Takekura (most often known as Musashi) is a placekicker and linebacker for the Deimon Devil Bats. He, along with Kurita and Hiruma, was one of the first three members of the Devil Bats, though not actually official. He didn't become an official member until after Sena joined. He, Kurita, and Hiruma formed the Devil Bats in middle school, calling themselves the Mao Devil Bats. Musashi was forced to quit the team when his father became sick and he had to take over his construction company. He worked at Deimon High School, longing to become a Devil Bat once more, but refusing to give up his post. He finally decided to join the team when Sena and Monta tried to convince him to rejoin the Devil Bats.

Daikichi Komusubi[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Komusubi.png
  • Jersey #: 55
  • Height: 4' 11"
  • Weight: 140 lbs
  • Bench Press: 242 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.2 Seconds
  • Role: Offensive Guard, Defensive Tackle
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Komusubi.png

Daikichi Komusubi is a freshman at Deimon High School who looks up to Kurita as something of a role model. He may be short and slow, but he makes up for this with his strength. He makes a good tackler for the Devil Bats, often working defensively and sometimes even as an offensive guard. He is usually one to show-off his strength to the Ha-Ha Brothers, who usually come behind him in that department. However, as time passed by on the team, Komusubi developed something more of a friendly rivalry with the Ha-Ha Brothers. Komusubi's main goal is to prove that size is not everything - he may be short, but that doesn't take away from his strength.

Manabu Yukimitsu[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Yukimitsu.png
  • Jersey #: 16
  • Height: 5' 10"
  • Weight: 147 lbs
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.5 Seconds
  • Role: Wide Receiver
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Yukimitsu.png

Manabu Yukimitsu is one of the smartest members of the Deimon Devil Bats, along with Hiruma and Mamori. Before joining the Devil Bats, all he did was study and nothing else. He was very studious, and always worked very hard for high grades. However, he regrets this - because he spent so much time studying, he never got to enjoy the time as it passed by. He hopes to turn this around by joining the Devil Bats, choosing American football as something he would remember after he finished high school, rather than simply studying all the time.

Kazuki Jumonji[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Jumonji.png
  • Jersey #: 51
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 156 lbs
  • Bench Press: 187 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.5 Seconds
  • Role: Lineman
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Jumonji.png

Kazuki Jumonji is a member of the group the "Ha-Ha Brothers" in Deimon High School, and seems to be the leader. On Sena's first day as a freshman, they continuously bully him. This is until Sena shows his running and dodging capabilities, which leads Hiruma to recruit him for the Devil Bats. The Ha-Ha Brothers almost make it into the Devil Bats, only to be beaten by Komusubi, who becomes a rival of theirs. They are later on unexpectedly accepted into the team as linemen. Out of the three Brothers, Jumonji can easily be distinguished as the most enthusiastic about football. He pushes the other two to try harder and has even scored sudden touchdowns for the Devil Bats - something only done by someone in a defensive role by Eyeshield 21. He was one of the few people to first find out that Sena was actually Eyeshield 21, and is also the smartest Ha-Ha Brother.

Koji Kuroki[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Kuroki.png
  • Jersey #: 52
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 154 lbs
  • Bench Press: 187 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.1 Seconds
  • Role: Lineman
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Kuroki.png

Koji Kuroki is the second Ha-Ha Brother and a student at Deimon High School. He is the most violent of the three and the most prone to losing his temper. He usually uses a metal bat to smack people with, and even calls himself a coward a few times for doing so. Kuroki usually takes a defensive position on the field, but he can also take the role of linebacker sometimes - something the other two brothers have yet to do. When his football skills fail him, Kuroki's final resort is to turn to violence.

Shozo Togano[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Togano.png
  • Jersey #: 53
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 163 lbs
  • Bench Press: 187 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.5 Seconds
  • Role: Lineman
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Togano.png

Shozo Togano is the third Ha-Ha Brother and a student at Deimon High School. He is the quietest Ha-Ha Brother and the most artistically talented out of all the Devil Bats. He, like Kuroki and Jumonji, bullied Sena on his first day of high school. The Ha-Ha Brothers joined the Deimon Devil Bats after Sena did, where Komusubi became their rival. Togano enjoys reading manga, and is often never seen without a Jump Japanese comic book.

Natsuhiko Taki[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Natsuhiko.png
  • Jersey #: 37
  • Height: 6'
  • Weight: 158 lbs
  • Bench Press: 198 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.01 Seconds
  • Role: Tight End, Safety, Outside Linebacker
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Natsuhiko.png

Natsuhiko Taki is a prominent member of the Deimon Devil Bats. When he first tried out for American football in Japan, he didn't qualify. Deciding he wouldn't give up, he took all of the savings from his home to fly to America, where he tried out for American football once more. Though the coach saw his potential, Natsuhiko knew nothing about football despite wanting to be a star at it. The coach didn't accept him, telling him to get a better understanding of the sport before trying out again. Sena, feeling sorry for him, offered him a spot in the Devil Bats back in Japan. There he became a member of the team, proving to be quite useful at times despite his narcissistic attitude and idiocy.

Suzuna Taki[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Suzuna.png
  • Jersey #: None
  • Height: 4' 11"
  • Weight: ???
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: N/A
  • Role: Cheerleader
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Suzuna.png

Suzuna Taki is the sister of Deimon Devil Bat Natsuhiko Taki. She is a cheerleader of the Devil Bats, although she is not actually a student at Deimon High School. Suzuna becomes obsessed with finding out the true identity of Eyeshield 21 when she is first introduced, thinking that he is her long-lost brother. This is until she realizes that Eyeshield 21 is too short to be her brother, and leaves the country to go to America. She later comes back to Japan to become the cheerleader of the Devil Bats after her brother becomes a player for the team. She is quick to cheer the team on, no matter the situation.

Yohei Satake[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Satake.png
  • Jersey #: 13
  • Height: 5' 5"
  • Weight: 127 lbs
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.2 Seconds
  • Role: Linebacker, Receiver
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Satake.png

Yohei Satake is a support player for the Deimon Devil Bats and a freshman at Deimon High School. Originally only a basketball player, he, like Sena and Kenta, was threatened into joining the Deimon Devil Bats by Hiruma. Hiruma blackmails Satake by threatening to reveal that he wet his bed in Junior High. Though he isn't a very important member of the team, he sticks with it for a long time due to the fact that being a football player makes him more popular than being a basketball player.

Kenta Yamaoka[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Yamaoka.png
  • Jersey #: 85
  • Height: 5' 6"
  • Weight: 136 lbs
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.2 Seconds
  • Role: Linebacker, Receiver
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Yamaoka.png

Kenta Yamaoka is a support player for the Deimon Devil Bats and a freshman at Deimon High School. Originally only a basketball player just like Yohei Satake, he also gets blackmailed into joining the Deimon Devil Bats by Hiruma. Yamaoka is a big fan of Ai Kago, and usually spends 98% of his allowance to buy her CDs and various other products, including stalking supplies. He even kisses a poster of her everyday. Not unlike Satake, Yamaoka also sticks with the team for a long time as a support player. He doesn't do much for the team, and is usually flirting with Mamori in an unrequited relationship.

Tetsuo Ishimaru[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Ishimaru.png
  • Jersey #: 30
  • Height: 5' 6"
  • Weight: 130 lbs
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.9 Seconds
  • Role: Cornerback, Fullback
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Ishimaru.png

Tetsuo Ishimaru is a sophomore at Deimon High School and a member of both the school's track team and American football team, being the captain of the track & field team. Initially he was only a track member, known all around for his quick speed on the track. When the Devil Bats were looking for members, Sena tried to convince Ishimaru to join. His speed seemed like a good asset to the team. Ishimaru agreed to join under the condition that Sena would take half of his paper route and help him with it. Sena agreed and Ishimaru became a Devil Bat. Because of his quick speed and position on the track team, Hiruma usually refers to him as "Track Star". He usually blocks Sena when he is making his plays, with the advantage of being able to keep up with him.

Cerberus[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Cerberus.png
  • Jersey #: None
  • Height: ??
  • Weight: ??
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: N/A
  • Role: Mascot
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Cerberus.png

Cerberus is Hiruma's menacing pet dog. He has a tendency to chase after Sena and even Monta, which Hiruma seems to be perfectly fine with. He also acts as a mascot alongside the Devil Bat.

Catching Board[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Catching Board.png
  • Jersey #: None
  • Height: 5' 7"
  • Weight: 31 lbs
  • Bench Press: N/A
  • 40-Yard Dash: N/A
  • Role: Receiver
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Catching Board.png

Because the Deimon Devil Bats were on a shortage of members, they had to use a board as their receiver. This was before Monta came along. When Sena got Monta to join the team, they had a receiver, so the Catching Board was no longer needed. The team destroyed the Catching Board as an introduction to their new receiver.

Koigahama Cupids[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Koigahama Cupids.gif

The Koigahama Cupids is the first team you face off against in MAX Devil Power, and simply serve as a tutorial. This role seems to fit the team - in the series, they are something of a joke team. They lose quite easily in any match they are in, and the only notable player (and the only player who actually gains any points for the team) is Kaoru Hatsujo. The players are constantly boasting, but this usually proves to merely be overconfidence. They are usually taken down a few pegs in the field since they never actually win matches. Even after their losses however, they continue to boast and lose matches. They maintain the record of worst ranking in the tournament, even losing 10-125 at one point against the Seibu Wild Gunmen.

Kaoru Hatsujo[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Hatsujo.png
  • Jersey: 19
  • Height: 5' 7"
  • Weight: 136 lbs
  • Bench Press: 88 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.1 Seconds
  • Role: Quarterback
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Hatsujo.png

Kaoru Hatsujo is the quarterback and captain of the Koigahama Cupids, though the latter position doesn't come with much honor. He usually taunts his opponents but can't play up to his taunts and usually gets beaten by the opposing team. His role in the series is usually as a source of comic relief. He is usually the only player on his team to actually earn points for games, but this is never enough. He also has a defined ability as a kicker, earning the team's only points in their match against the Deimon Devil Bats. Unfortunately for Hatsujo, this kick was quickly countered by Sena when he scored the game's winning touchdown.

Ojo White Knights[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Ojo White Knights.gif

The Ojo White Knights are a menacing American football team that are usually considered one of the best in Japan and the best in Tokyo. Hailing from Ojo High School with such greats as the speedy and analytical Shin, the strong brute Otawara, the fast-acting and high-jumping Sakuraba, and the tactical quarterback and captain Takami, the Ojo White Knights are considered an unstoppable force in high school American football - that is, until the Deimon Devil Bats come around. Although they have lost to the Devil Bats, they are still well-known and keep a high reputation, continuing their win streaks and scoring countless touchdowns. Surprisingly enough, the team wasn't all that great from the start. The year Shin joined the football team, they were continuously winning by landslides. Eventually though, these players had to leave the high school and move on due to their ages. The team was left weak, as they barely won to the Seibu Wild Gunmen and were wiped out by the Shinryuji Naga. This turned around when Shin and Sakuraba gained the determination to improve their skills, and the White Knights became the undefeated, legendary team they once were.

Seijuro Shin[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Shin.png
  • Jersey: 40
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 156 lbs
  • Bench Press: 288 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.36 Seconds
  • Role: Linebacker
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Shin.png

Seijuro Shin is the ace linebacker of the Ojo White Knights. He is well-known for his lightning-fast speed, and was able to outrun anyone before he came across Eyeshield 21. In their game against the Deimon Devil Bats, the White Knights deployed Shin as a last resort to win the game. Shin wasn't one to disappoint, and the Devil Bats looked to be at a loss. Little did the White Knights know that Hiruma had a trick up his sleeve, and he sent the newest player onto the field - Eyeshield 21. 21's quick speed stunned everyone, including Shin, who was outrun by the mysterious new player. Ever since then, Shin has had a peaceful rivalry with Eyeshield 21, who gave him the determination to improve himself and work harder (interestingly enough, Shin's appearance triggered the same type of determination in Sena). It didn't take long for the analytical and tactical Shin to discover Eyeshield 21's true identity and deduce him as Sena, but even with his identity known the relationship between the two remains the same, with Shin even giving Sena advice from time to time.

Haruto Sakuraba[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Sakuraba.png
  • Jersey: 18
  • Height: 6' 1"
  • Weight: 158 lbs
  • Bench Press: 154 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.0 Seconds
  • Role: Wide Receiver
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Sakuraba.png

Haruto Sakuraba was the typical pretty boy of Ojo High School. He became successful as a pop artist, even releasing his own CD despite that fact that he actually can't sing. Even though his career was going quite nicely, this wasn't where Sakuraba's ambitions were. Ever since he was a child, he aspired to become a professional athlete. This chance came when the coach of the American football team of Ojo High noticed Sakuraba's height. He recruited him for the team with the hopes that he would make a good wide receiver. Sakuraba finally became an athlete, but he still wasn't happy - Shin, the star player of the White Knights, continued to dominate the attention of everyone including the coach. Sakuraba grew envious and pessimistic until an accident in a football match gave him an injury and lead to a revelation. Sakuraba decided that he had to improve himself instead of growing jealous of Shin, and considerably improved his skills, becoming more and more serious about the sport. He became a key player of the White Knights after this event, and continues to be the athlete he once hoped to be.

Makoto Otawara[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Otawara.png
  • Jersey: 60
  • Height: 6' 4"
  • Weight: 288 lbs
  • Bench Press: 308 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.4 Seconds
  • Role: Lineman
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Otawara.png

Makoto Otawara is the large and egotistical lineman of the Ojo White Knights. He can usually be recognized as the largest and least intelligent of the team. Aside from the fact that his intelligence level is extremely low, he also has flatulence problems and is not afraid to pick his nose in public. Although this makes him stand out as the obnoxious and brash brute of the team, his place on the field can be replaced by no other. His size and strength is enough to make up for all of his bad qualities, as his tackling abilities can make almost anyone a victim. Unsurprisingly, outside of the field, Otawara was also a reigning champion in sumo wrestling. He lost this championship to Komusubi of the Deimon Devil Bats not by losing a match but by a disqualification - Otawara forgot to put the sumo outfit on, and revealed himself to the unsuspecting audience.

Ichiro Takami[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Takami.png
  • Jersey: 3
  • Height: 6' 4"
  • Weight: 174 lbs
  • Bench Press: 187 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.7 Seconds
  • Role: Quarterback
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Takami.png

Ichiro Takami is the captain of the Ojo White Knights and usual strategist of the team. He is the team's quarterback and one of the more well-known players. Though his speed was originally great, Takami experienced a leg injury as a child and was left running slower than Otawara. This did not stop him from achieving his goal, as Takami eventually became the quarterback of the Ojo White Knights just as he had dreamed. Though his speed isn't a stand-out trait of his, Takami can usually effectively read opposing teams' strategies and, like Shin, is analytical. He also uses height to his advantage at times. He and Sakuraba formed a move called the "Everest Pass" in which they pass the ball to each other so high that no one else would be able to reach it.

Zokugaku Chameleons[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Zokugaku Chameleons.gif

The Zokugaku Chameleons is the American football team representing Zokuto Gakuen. They, like the chameleon, adapt in order to win. They do this by targeting weaknesses of the players. This seems like a regular football strategy, but when the Chameleons are on the verge of defeat, they go all-out street fighting. They were even disqualified from a tournament because they beat up the referee. The Chameleons aren't the type of team that plays nice, usually using the dirty tactics most would disapprove of. The team is made of gang members. This could explain some of their brawling strategies. Rui Habashira is the star of the team and the only well-known member aside from his manager and trainer. As such, Habashira is the gang leader.

Rui Habashira[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP character Habashira.png
  • Jersey: 42
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 147 lbs
  • Bench Press: 176 lbs
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.2 Seconds
  • Role: Linebacker
Eyeshield 21 MDP profile Habashira.png

Rui Habashira is the captain and linebacker of the Zokugaku Chameleons. He is the only well-known member of his team and the only motivated one who is serious about football. Because of this, he usually has to force the other team members to work harder and train by using threats and violence. This is the only way he can gain their respect. Despite acting like an angry brute most of the time, Habashira has a soft side. He helped Sena at one point and, when his team was defeated by the Deimon Devil Bats, he didn't hold a grudge against them. All he wanted was a rematch. Habashira is known as an exceptional linebacker who is perfect for the position, but another stand-out trait is his long, chameleon-like tongue.

Other Teams[edit]

Seibu Wild Gunmen[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Seibu Wild Gunmen.gif

The Seibu Wild Gunmen is one of the top American football teams in Japan, mostly due to their quarterback-receiver combination. They are a team focused on an American theme since the sport is American, though their imitations are based solely on the West. Their training location is a cattle ranch in Texas. Shien Mushanokoji, known as "The Kid" to match the Gunmen theme, is the team's quarterback who, along with best friend Jo Tetsuma, make up the team's legendary pass-receive duo. The Kid holds an additional skill as a gunslinger, and Tetsuma is one to always follow orders - though many times he follows them too literally.

Taiyō Sphinx[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Taiyo Sphinx.gif

The Taiyō Sphinx are a team based on an Egyptian theme. This is because the headmaster of the team's school became so obsessed with Egypt when excavating ruins that he opened a school shaped like a pyramid. Their dark skin, which also contributes to the Egyptian image, is caused by the team's love for surfing. Since a beach is right next to their school, they do it often, which explains their tans. The Sphinx are known for their strength (with all players having a large build) and their powerful defense. They don't focus on offense as much as they do defense, and will constantly protect the quarterback. The Sphinx was originally the chosen team to face the American NASA Aliens, but after facing the Deimon Devil Bats in a match, the team's captain, Mamoru Banba, was impressed with the determination of the Devil Bats and gave the position to them.

NASA Aliens[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot NASA Aliens.gif

The NASA Aliens are the bonus team played after the game has been finished and also one of the toughest to beat. They, unlike all other teams in the game, come from the country where American football originates from - America. The team consists of star runner Patrick "Panther" Spencer (who overcomes the coach's racism and is eventually able to play), Jeremy Watt (friend to Panther and the team's translator, though he is not very good at translating Japanese and often makes mistakes), Homer Fitzgerald (friend to Panther and the team's quarterback), Big Gonzales (the largest member of the team who plays center), and Little Gonzales (smaller than Big Gonzales but makes up for it with speed).

Kyoshin Poseidon[edit]

Eyeshield 21 MDP mascot Kyoshin Poseidon.jpeg

The Kyoshin Poseidon are a bonus team that can only be accessed with a Nintendo DS Lite. Eyeshield 21: Devilbats Devildays must be in the Game Boy Advance slot at the same time that MAX Devil Power is in the Nintendo DS slot. This will unlock the Kyoshin Poseidon. A team named after the Greek god of the sea, the Kyoshin Poseidon were originally a team not well-recognized. This was until the joining of rookies. With the team's new additions, they became the tallest American football team in Japan. Their defense is often hard to break through and consist of two star players that make up the Golden Pair - Shun Kakei and Kengo Mizumachi.
