First, you need to get into New Vegas. This can be done in a few ways:
- Carry 2000 caps or more to demonstrate your wealth (you just need to show them, there is no fee)
- Hack the robot with your Science skill (Science of 80 or higher)
- Complete G.I. Blues for a free Passport
- Buy a Passport from Mick & Ralph's for 500 caps (375 with a high enough Barter skill)
Faction Choice[edit]
This is the first point in the game you are made aware of the choice you will have to make later: you have to side with Mr House, Yes Man, the NCR or the Legion. You will be alerted about the presence of the quests shortly after you enter the strip, between entering the Lucky 38, and exiting the Tops building.
- Yes Man quests start at Wild Card: Change in Management.
- Mr House quests start at The House Always Wins, I.
- NCR quests start at Things That Go Boom.
- Legion quests start at Render Unto Caesar.
The NCR and Legion infamy will also be reset after completing their initial tasks.
Tops Casino[edit]
There are many ways to finish this quest.
- You can speak to Swank at the main desk, and convince him to let you search Benny's Suite. You will need three pieces of evidence in order to have your weapons returned, but two will be sufficient to allow other Chairmen to be less hostile.
- You can talk to Benny himself, where you can kill him on the spot, or he will give you the key to the presidential suite and send you up there or accompany you up there.
- You can speak to Yes Man.
If you end up killing Benny, you will get the Platinum Chip. If you don't, you will need to complete a portion of Render Unto Caesar to retrieve the chip.
