Hit Start button at the title screen and you will arrive in a village. If you talk to the people here you will learn that the castle you saw rise at the beginning is called Dragonia. The dragon residing there has seized the Holy Goblet, which provided light for the world, and that without it the world is literally cast into darkness. When you're ready, head to the very top of the current area. The old man there will tell you what is happening. Head up again and he'll tell you not to try fighting it. Head up yet again and he'll tell you to talk to everyone before going. If you do so they'll tell you useful tips about what you'll find in the dungeon. When you're ready, head up again to enter the tower.

All levels except level 10 & 30 are randomly generated (weapons, enemies, and dungeon layout) so this walkthrough cannot give any precise directions about where to find things.

Levels 1-4[edit]

At this point, try to kill every monster and grab every item (throwing away useless ones if necessary). At this early point it's a good idea to test each scroll and wand color you come across so that you'll know what they are for the rest of the game. At this point an axe is a very good weapon choice as it can take out many of these monsters in one hit. You may also be lucky enough to find a Long Sword. If you die at this point it's Game Over for good; once you reach level 5 onwards you can continue after you die. You should be able to pick up a whole set of Leather Armor by the time you reach level 4.

Levels 5-9[edit]

From this point onwards you'll be fighting Robots and Ninjas in addition to the usual enemies. Within these levels you can find much better gear than before. Also, at this point you have infinite lives, at the cost of progress and the floor layouts being re-randomized. Every 5th floor after this is a new checkpoint

Level 10[edit]

There are a lot of monsters on this floor. As before, try out any new items you find to learn what they do. Hopefully you'll have found a chaos scroll, a scroll that confuses monsters. Without one, the only thing you'll be able to do is make a mad dash for the stairs found in the top left corner or you'll almost certainly die.

Levels 11-14[edit]

Starting from level 11 you'll find Insects that can destroy your armor. To get around this you can equip armor you don't care about before you fight them, or simply keep some spares.

On a side note. Any leather or wood armor you have with you will not melt away; only metal armor will corrode when hit by these villains.

Levels 15-19[edit]

From this point onwards you will be facing more powerful enemies, but you'll also find much better gear.

Levels 20-24[edit]

The monsters here are stronger yet. You may be lucky enough to find some of the rarer weapons and armor.

Levels 25-29[edit]

The enemies here are even stronger than before. The final level is just approaching, so be sure to stock up on any magic items you want for the final battle unless you really have to use them to avoid death.

Level 30[edit]

If you have a Chaos Scroll, use it as soon as you arrive. Avoid all the monsters and head straight up to the Holy Goblet. Grabbing it kills all the enemies but you still get the EXP for killing them.

Final boss[edit]

Use whatever gear you have on him. He can use teleport magic in addition to confusion spells. With time and luck you'll take him down. Congratulations, you've won the game and saved the world from darkness! Or, alternatively, you can use a kamikaze Cane.
