The archer is a class for the Hume and Viera races and is the only basic Ranged class. For Humes, however, it requires the mastery of one Soldier A-Ability. Many Archery abilities inflict buffs or debuffs. Mastery of 3 Archery A-Abilities is required to become the Hunter class (Hume), while only two are required to become the Sniper class (Viera).

Usage[edit]

Focus is the most useful ability, and you should use it whenever you're out of range of the enemy. The status abilities all have relatively low hit rates, so avoid using them unless targets are sleeping. Lightning Strike isn't useful often because you'll mostly just use it against units with Archer's Bane. Switch to a higher bow class as quickly as you can.

Take Aim[edit]

Take Aim is generally not a very useful move. However, it is a good way to cure units of debuffs like Confuse and Charm. It will deal low damage, but still cause the debuff to go away.

Lightning Strike[edit]

One situation in which Lightning Strike is useful is when an enemy is near critical condition and has an R-ability that activates in critical condition. If Lightning Strike knocks their health into Critical, the R-ability won't activate. This is especially useful against enemies with Critical: Vanish.
