To become the Paladin class, a unit must master three soldier A-abilities. The Paladin's abilities range from nursing an ally back to health, to defense-raising techniques and defending an ally. With a high defense stat and the use of powerful weapons, a Paladin can be a very effective tank.

Usage[edit]

Paladins are good substitutes for White Mages at the beginning of the game with their Nurse, War Cry, and Cover abilities. They are especially good for missions where you have to protect a character because of this. They also can function as a Tank unit, where they charge into the middle of the battlefield and draw most of the attacks. They are invaluable during battles with Undead. Avoid using Parley, though all the other moves can be useful.

Saint Cross[edit]

This move is best for Paladins that serve as Tanks because they often get surrounded. Because the mana cost is 10, it can be used every turn. Keep in mind that it deals holy damage, so it can be used to heal units that absorb holy (such as anyone with a Chameleon Robe). Once you learn Holy Blade, avoid using this move as often so that you can save up enough mana for it.

Sanctify[edit]

This is by far the most useful move for banishing the Undead because it is ranged and has area effect. You might want to consider making Chivalry your secondary ability for any battles with multiple Undead if you know Sanctify.
