The following information pertains primarily to the home computer versions of Ghostbusters, although various aspects of these details pertain to the console versions as well.

[edit] Purchasing equipment

• Press 1, 2, or 3 to display each page of available inventory.
• Press up or down on the joystick to scroll between each item.
• Press the button to lift the item with the forklift, and press right to bring the forklift to the vehicle.
• Either press the button to install the item on the vehicle, or press left to move the forklift back to the inventory and press the button to release the item. Once the item is installed, it can not be uninstalled.
• When all desired items have been installed, press E on the keyboard to end the purchasing sequence and begin the game.

[edit] City map

• Joystick: Use the joystick to navigate the streets.
• Button: Press the button, in conjunction with a direction to indicate which side of the street you'd like to arrive on, to leave the map and begin driving to a destination.
• B key: Press the B key on your keyboard if you purchased Ghost Bait, and you notice ghosts beginning to gather at a particular block to form the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man, to lure the ghosts to you instead.
• Space bar: Press the space bar in order to view the current status of your backpack, traps, and men.

[edit] Driving

• Joystick: Press left or right to maneuver your vehicle across the road. You cannot control your speed.
• Button: Press the button to activate the Ghost Vacuum (provided that you purchased one) when you encounter one of the ghosts that you tagged on the city map in order to vacuum up the ghost.
• Space bar: Press the space bar in order to view the current status of your backpack, traps, and men.

[edit] Capturing ghosts

1. Press left or right on the joystick to position where you would like to lay the trap on the ground, and press the button to lay the trap down.
2. Press left or right to position your first Ghostbuster on the block. Face the direction you would like to be facing when the proton packs are fired, and press the button to position that man.
3. Press left or right to position your second Ghostbuster on the block. Face the direction you would like the second man to be facing when the proton packs are fired, and press the button to position that man.
4. Press left to move the right Ghostbuster closer, and press right to move the left Ghostbuster closer, and press the button to trigger the trap.
