Enemy agent Motorcyclist
Golgo 13 TSE enemy agent.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 1

Enemy agents walk back and forth along the same streets that you investigate. When they determine your identity, they will stop and shoot, often times squatting down to do so. They are easy to defeat, going down with just one hit. Consider jump kicking them since you can't shoot them when they squat.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy biker.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 1

These bikers aren't going for a joy ride. They actively seek to end Golgo 13's life by running him over or by launching their bikes into the air and landing on him. They are just as weak as enemy agents, but they are difficult to hit because of their unpredictable movements. Try to shoot them right when they leave the ground, or jump kick them as they drive towards you.

Missiles Levi-platforms
Golgo 13 TSE enemy missile.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 3

Heat seeking missiles are often hidden out of sight in the ceiling and launch whenever Golgo 13 is detected in the area. They can be destroyed if you can hit them, but they move so quickly, it's almost impossible to predict when you need to attack. Often times, it's safe to duck down and hope that the missiles sail over your head.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy hover rider.gif
Life: 4 - First appearance: Act 3

When you get close to the interior of an enemy base, men riding these floating contraptions will try to prevent you from getting any further. The platforms hover around a given area, and can launch small missiles at Golgo 13. You can destroy them, but it will take four bullets to put one down. If you have the opportunity to avoid them by taking an alternate path, you should.

Laser Female spies
Golgo 13 TSE enemy laser.gif
Life: 4 - First appearance: Act 3

Another component of the enemies base defense is the deployment of lasers. They are stationary and turn to face Golgo 13 from whatever direction he approaches. Then they fire laser blasts at regular intervals. You can take the time to destroy them if you wish, but you will likely suffer some damage from a laser or two in the process.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy woman.gif
Life: 2 - First appearance: Act 4

As Golgo 13 gets deeper in his investigation, it will not be uncommon to encounter ordinarily dressed women who suddenly attack. These women aren't around for sight seeing, they're under the employment of the enemy with instructions to eliminate Golgo 13 on sight. Hardier than the usual agents, they possess a jump kick in addition to their weapon, and they take two hits to defeat.

Bazooka soldier Landmine
Golgo 13 TSE enemy bazooka.gif
Life: 6 - First appearance: Act 4

When the enemy is serious about preventing Golgo 13 from approaching a particular site, they employ soldiers with expertise in firing bazookas. These soldiers remain stationary, but they turn to face Golgo and fire their weapon at him. They are among the strongest enemies you can face, taking six hits to defeat. Try to position yourself just below them so you have the advantage when you fire.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy mine.gif
Life: N/A - First appearance: Act 4

Stationary and fairly visible to Golgo 13, landmines are one more method employed by the enemy to keep him away from sensitive areas. They can not be destroyed, but they can be eaily avoided by leaping over them.

First-person perspective[edit]

Enemy agent Helicopter
Golgo 13 TSE enemy sniper.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 1

Agents that ambush Golgo 13 are a little more spry than the variety that he meets on the street. They can leap to the right or left in an attempt to confuse Golgo, or lay down low while firing their weapon at him. But they are no stronger than the regular variety and are easily put down with a single shot. Just don't allow them to distract you from more dangerous foes lurking about.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy helicopter.gif
Life: 2 - First appearance: Act 1

Helicopters fly in and get somewhat close to Golgo before launching a missile at him. They tend to fly diagonally in an effort to prevent Golgo from getting a fix on them. They are fairly well armored and take two shots to destroy. If you get used to the trajectory that the missiles are fired along, you can actually shoot them down before they become a threat.

Fighter jet Diver
Golgo 13 TSE enemy jet fighter.gif
Life: 2 - First appearance: Act 2

Fighter jets behave very similarly to helicopters, except they are far more maneuverable. They have a tendency to veer off and fly away much faster after launching a missile. You'll have to be quick to get two bullets off and destroy them before they disappear off the screen.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy diver.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 3

When Golgo 13 is caught in an underwater ambush, he faces a slightly different crowd of hostile agents. These divers swim about in an effort to confuse Golgo 13, while they fire harpoons at him. They may swim to the left or right, or they may directly approach Golgo and attack. Though they only have one point of health, it's not unusual for a single bullet to reach its target underwater unless your shot is extremely accurate.

Submarine Underwater craft
Golgo 13 TSE enemy submarine.gif
Life: 2 - First appearance: Act 4

At times, you may face an ambush by sea. When this happens, you may find that an enemy submarine has been perched in the water to lend assistance to the agents around you. They fire missiles into the air which are programmed to hit you. Then they sink into the water before rising at a new location. Hit them twice to remove the threat that they pose.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy sub craft.gif
Life: 2 - First appearance: Act 6

Later in the game when you are ambushed underwater, these submerged exploration vehicles join the divers in their attack on you. They appear from the right or left, and turn around to escape after shooting at you. Shoot them twice to destroy them before they have a chance to harm Golgo 13.

Guerrilla Tank
Golgo 13 TSE enemy guerrilla.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 8

These soldiers are guerrilla fighters that pack a big punch in the form of a bazooka. Once you identify them, they rarely move from their location. However, they fire quickly, and the amount of damage they can do to Golgo 13 is significant. Shoot them immediately upon sight in order to keep them from firing at you, or you won't have much health left if you survive the attack.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy tank.gif
Life: 3 - First appearance: Act 9

The enemy is quite serious in stopping Golgo 13 when they employ tanks. However, despite a tank's maneuverability, they won't budge from their location once you spot them. It will take three shots to destroy a tank, and in that time, it's quite possible for them to fire their cannon and do a good deal of damage to Golgo 13. Don't waste any time when you see them; shoot them as quickly as possible.

Missile array
Golgo 13 TSE enemy missile array.gif
Life: 3 - First appearance: Act 9

While combat vehicles with missile arrays on top look different from the tanks, they actually behave quite similarly. They don't move from their location. Treat them the same as tanks and destroy them as quickly as you can to avoid taking more damage than necessary.

Side scrolling (flying)[edit]

Enemy jet Bomber
Golgo 13 TSE enemy jet.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 2

Jets appear from the right and fly rapidly to the left. They tend to arrive in groups, and they aren't afraid to fly directly into you. They fire bullets at you and veer off when they are about half way across the screen. They bullets they fire can intercept your own gunfire, and they can be difficult to destroy unless you have a clear shot.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy bomber.gif
Life: ~10 - First appearance: Act 2

Compared to the jets, bombers fly in from the left, and cross slowly to the right. They shower the screen with bullets in every direction as they cross the screen. They are a little easier to hit than the jets, but they can sustain a tremendous amount of damage before they go down. While it will take a lot of effort to destroy them, its worthwhile because they provide you with plenty of health.

Air mine Submarine
Golgo 13 TSE enemy air mine.gif
Life: ~5 - First appearance: Act 2

You will encounter these hovering in the air as you fly. They surround themselves with four globes of fire which rotate around in circle. They rise to the same altitude as Golgo's craft. They only have a tiny area able to take a few shots to destroy, and because they tend to rise, you have to continuously rise in order to strike them with your bullets. If they hit you, your craft is instantly destroyed.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy sub missiles.gif
Life: N/A - First appearance: Act 5

When flying over water, it's possible to encounter enemy subs that float on the surface. They are poised to launch missiles up in the air at Golgo 13. The subs can't be destroyed, so all that you can do is fly over them and avoid the missiles. Wait for a gap between missiles before flying over the boat.

Swimming[edit]

Diver Water mine
Golgo 13 TSE enemy harpoon.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 3

Golgo 13 will not be any safer in the water than he is on land. Enemy divers will attempt to track him down and fire at him before he can swim to his objective. The divers generally swim forward in one direction through the water, though they are known to turn around and swim away. One will usually be braver than the others. Let this one swim ahead of you and shoot it from behind.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy sea mine.gif
Life: N/A - First appearance: Act 3

The enemy has deposited mines throughout the water. They float at one particular height and bob up and down. They can't be shot at or destroyed, so you must time your approach to them carefully. Swim through the mines without touching them or they will explode and do a lot of damage.

Coral Shark
Golgo 13 TSE enemy coral.gif
Life: 5 - First appearance: Act 3

Coral floats upward from the ground, rising only a few feet. It can be shot at if you truly wish to clear it out of your way. However, since it is stationary, and stands out in contrast to the water, it is best avoided entirely. Only worry about it if it truly prevents you from passing safely through a tight section of water.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy shark.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 3

Sharks swim through the water in search of their next meal, and they wouldn't mind snaking on Golgo. They move rather quickly, compared to divers. They tend to swim straight on for a while before breaking and swimming diagonally. They are difficult to hit, due to their speed. If you don't hit them on the first try, swim to safety.

Octopus Torpedo
Golgo 13 TSE enemy octopus.gif
Life: ? - First appearance: Act 4

Octopuses are very large obstacles to avoid. They swim around the water with very little regard for where Golgo happens to be. Watch their movement for a little while before determining a safe route around them, and swim past them as soon as an opening appears.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy torpedo.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 4

Torpedos appear without warning from the left side of the screen, and quickly cut through the water to the right. They don't necessarily appear at the same height as Golgo, but be prepared to swim up or down to a safe position if they ever appear directly behind him.

Battery Piranha
Golgo 13 TSE enemy battery.gif
Life: N/A - First appearance: Act 4

One of the enemy bases that you must locate is protected by a set of battery cannons which fire shots from the bottom of the sea to the surface above. As you approach the base in an effort to sneak in, you must watch out for the fire of these weapons and find a safe path through the artillery. They can't be destroyed prior to reaching the base.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy piranha.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 8

Although piranha are deadly fish and should not be taken lightly, they aren't very concerned by Golgo's presence. Like the octopus, they swim around and do not directly attack Golgo. They are easy to defeat, and should be taken out from a safe distance before advancing through the water.

Crocodile
Golgo 13 TSE enemy crocodile.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 8

Compared to Piranhas, Crocodiles are more of a concern. Crocodile behave in a very similar manner to sharks. As such, your strategy against them should be the same. Try to take them out early on, but if you miss, swim to a safer location, out of their trajectory.

First-person exploration[edit]

Security Spartacus
Golgo 13 TSE enemy camo.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 3

When Golgo 13 sneaks into an enemy base, he must explore through it to find particular items, information, or just an exit. Security guards are stationed in particular location, and Golgo will encounter them there every time that he leaves and returns. Draw your weapon, aim it at the guard, and fire before they have a chance to shoot at you. You can easily restore your life by continuously visiting points where guards are posted.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy spartacus.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 5

Spartacus is determined to shoot Golgo down where he stands, and he uses a sub-machine gun to do it. He leaps over Golgo's head to attack him from behind. As soon as Spartacus leaps, you must do an about-face, and fire at Spartacus before he gets the chance to fire at you. If you fail to beat him, you must wait for the next opportunity to out-draw him in battle.

Thug Knife woman
Golgo 13 TSE enemy thug.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 6

When Golgo reaches more important locations, some of the enemy thug that occupy a building will appear to take Golgo out themselves. Other than appearance, they are no different than the security guards. Return to fight them continuously when you are in need of extra health.

Golgo 13 TSE enemy knife.gif
Life: 1 - First appearance: Act 6

Women in uniforms are also set up to patrol the buildings that Golgo must explore. While Golgo normally has a way with women, these ladies won't fall prey to his advances. Instead, they will whip out a knife and throw it at him. Draw your weapon and aim at them before they have a chance to throw.

Fake Golgo
Golgo 13 TSE enemy fake.gif
Life: 3 - First appearance: Act 12

The Fake Golgo that was used to frame you before the game began will show up to attack you. His behavior is identical to Spartacus. However, he can sustain three bullets before going down, so you'll have to outlast him and get three shots in before he can nail you with his weapon.
