[edit] Main Character Students

Note: not all characters appear in all versions of the game

[edit] Harry Potter

Harry Potter
Harry Potter

A brave 12 year old Hogwarts student. Main and only playable character. Harry lives with his unpleasant Aunt and Uncle [not featured] as he was orphaned after Lord Voldemort [principle evil character] killed his parents. Voldermort attempted to kill Harry however, his killing curse backfired destroying his body only leaving harry with a lightning shaped scar [a never before seen event] - this gave harry the nickname 'the boy who lived'. Harry only learnt that he was a wizard on his 11th birthday when Hagrid picked him up from his relatives to take him to Hogwarts for the first time. The story starts with him escaping his aunt and uncles via flying ford driven by the Weasley twins who deliver him at the burrow. Mrs Weasley [Ron's mother] is very maternal about harry fussing after him before school starts.

[edit] Ron Weasley

Ron Weasley
Ron Weasley

Harry's best friend, usually seen leading Harry to class or to the Quidditch stadium, or in cut scenes. He turns into Crabbe (not in PC version) when Harry turns into Goyle when he drinks the polyjuice potion. The game opens at the burrow - Ron's home. The Weasleys are one of the few pure-blood wizarding family. Like all Weasleys he has ginger hair. He is the 6th of 7 children. After missing the Hogwarts train he drives Harry and himself to Hogwarts, crashing into the whomping willow where harry has to rescue him from the violent tree's clutches.

[edit] Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger
Hermione Granger

An intelligent girl who is rarely with Harry for most of the game, except in cut scenes. She is one of Harry's closest friends at school. Hermione is a muggle-born meaning that although she is a witch and magical she has non-magical parents. Muggle-borns are looked down on by pure-blood wizarding families and she sometimes has to deal with insults from Draco Malfoy who is a pure-blood. The term 'mud-blood' is a derogatory term used to describe muggle born witches/wizards as dirty-blooded. She is Petrified (paralyzed, turned to stone) toward the end of the game.
