VR Missions are a special set of minigames playable in the Laboratories of both the Watchtower and the Batcave. Most of these missions are required for 100% completion, as they give Gold Bricks upon clearing and have character or vehicle tokens in them. From shooters to racing and even to old-school arcade clones, there's plenty of variety to keep things interesting. Each new mission is unlocked every time you beat a level in the main story, and numbered VR missions require you to clear all previous similar missions before they can be unlocked.

Spaceship Shooter 1[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Javelin

As its name suggests, the Spaceship Shooter series is a top-down shooter. You control a flying saucer that shoots beams forward, and you can move around the stage to avoid enemies and aim at them. Your goal is to shoot down all the enemies that appear. Red enemies are stationary and function like highly visible landmines. Yellow and blue enemies follow you, with the blue ones being faster than the yellows. Blue enemies also have a chance to dodge out of the way of shots. Smashing into any enemies decreases your health, but you merely lose studs if you die. This first stage is wide open with very simple enemy patterns so it's great for getting used to the Spaceship Shooter gameplay. After defeating enough enemies, the Javelin token will appear at the center of the arena.

Spaceship Shooter 2[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Bane's Mole Machine

Spaceship Shooter ramps up the difficulty quite a bit. The stage is still the same size, but enemies spawn much more frequently. Green and purple enemies are introduced. Green enemies travel in a straight line across the stage, but they're usually arranged in long lines and sometimes spawn on opposite ends of the arena in an attempt to crush you. Purple enemies follow you slowly but are hard to hit because they gyrate wildly. A blue boulder also makes an appearance, requiring a lot of shots to destroy. This second level really demands you to make full use of your spaceship's mobility to evade the swarms of enemies. Focus more on staying alive than shooting down foes. Simply turning left and right to create a conical spray of beams is usually effective at destroying groups of enemies. The vehicle token appears at one of the edges of the arena sometime during the battle.

Spaceship Shooter 3[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, The Flash Mobile

Instead of a circular battlefield, you're now fighting on a donut-shaped arena. This gives you significantly less space to get away from enemies, and the enemy formations don't make things much easier. In particular, green enemies can now spawn in perpendicular lines, which is really hard to dodge if you don't shoot a path through them. A single new enemy appears in this stage: pairs of foes that create a harmful laser between them. Just shoot one of them to disable the laser. Keep in mind that you can still shoot across the hole in the center to hit enemies in the opposite end. Use this tactic to avoid getting overwhelmed by too many enemies. Look out for the vehicle token somewhere on the ring and destroy the blue boulder when it appears to win the minigame.

Ring Master 1[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Banana Truck

This is a Sumo wrestling combat simulator. You must defeat 10 enemies, but they can only be killed by knocking them out of the ring, off the edge of the arena. Luckily, your attacks launch enemies much further, but so can your enemies and their punches can kill you the normal way. The ring gets smaller as time passes, making it easier to kill enemies but also increasing the chance of you getting knocked out yourself. Instead of pure aggression, use precise hits to send enemies flying to the closest edge. The token will appear in the middle of the ring.

Ring Master 2[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Jim Lee

This time, the fight takes place on a literal ring. While the arena is larger, the hole in the middle decreases the surface area you can fight on, leaving a narrow circle around it if the fight takes long enough. Fortunately, the hole in the middle gives you an additional direction to knock enemies into. A single hit toward the outside or center of the arena is enough to kill them, just don't hit them parallel to the edge. The token appears at the northern side of the arena.

Ring Master 3[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Invisible Ship

The ring is back to a normal circle shape, but there's a new obstacle: an invincible Killer Croc. This fiend will periodically charge at you to knock you away, and he can jump back on to the ring even if he falls off. Knock your enemies around as usual, but make a quick jump out of the way when you see Killer Croc approaching. The vehicle token appears on the eastern side of the stage.

Race Track[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Supergirl (Classic)

This is a simple racing game where you drive the Batmobile across a virtual course. There are no enemies, so you only need to focus on avoiding walls. Use ramps to leap over small gaps, including one early on to get the character token. Sometimes, the track will suddenly shift upward, which will launch your car up in the air briefly. After a short while, the walls surrounding the track disappear, creating a bottomless pit on either side of you, forcing you to drive more carefully. Once you pass a checkpoint indicated by two flags, the race will end.

Snake 1[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Invisible Jet

A recreation of the classic videogame, Snake involves you running around to collect numbered tokens while leaving a trail behind you. You must avoid colliding into your own trail when moving about, and each collected token increases the length of your trail. This first level is easy, with a wide open center to ensure you have plenty of space to avoid your own trail. After collecting token 5, the vehicle token will appear in one of the corners. Shortly afterward, some squares will jut out of the center, limiting your movement but not by much.

Snake 2[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Batman's Buggy

This level introduces enemies and holes into the mix. It is possible, though unlikely, for you to fall into the holes. You must avoid colliding with enemies or their trails. Enemies generally avoid your trail as much as they can, but they can be killed if they have no choice but to run into your trail or even another enemy's trail. The stage is shaped like a cross with holes in the middle, which rearranges near the end of the minigame. The token can be found early on at the east side of the stage, near the center.

Snake 3[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, White Lantern

The last level of Snake is much longer and larger than the rest. You first have to advance to the right to collect a numbered token, which causes a new area to open up north. The character token is right in your path while you continue to the northern side. Here, you can go to either end of the northern half to collect tokens in a grid, but you must ultimately get all tokens from both ends. After you've obtained them all, the south half will expand significantly and more tokens will appear as well as several enemies. Collect all the tokens there to clear the Snake minigame.

Stud Maze[edit]

  • Reward: Classic TV Mini Batmobile

This VR Mission is obviously based on Pac-Man. You have to travel in an irregularly-shaped maze and collect all the studs to complete the mission. There are four enemies roaming around the maze with no real pattern, but running into them causes you to die instantly. Like other VR Missions, you won't fail the minigame if you die, but your points will be lower. The vehicle token appears at the center of some crossroads near the top of the labyrinth.

Stealth Collector 1[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, The Batcycle

In the Stealth Collector series of minigames, you have to collect numbered tokens while avoiding detection from enemies. The sight lines of your foes are indicated by the illuminated tiles on the floor, which you should avoid to the best of your ability. If enemies see you, they will fire a lethal laser at you, but you have time to dodge it. The first stage is simple enough for you to move around freely while having enough walls and corners to keep you out of sight. The vehicle token is in the middle of the maze.

Stealth Collector 2[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, The Joker Steam Roller

This level features 4 enemies instead of two on a maze that looks like an incomplete hourglass shape. While it is still fairly easy to avoid enemy sight, the tokens are placed within enemy patrol routes more often. The hourglass shape is also more hazardous, since it is possible to be cornered by an enemy in one of the nooks, especially when collecting a token in there. The vehicle token appears on the left side of the hourglass shape.

Stealth Collector 3[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Batman's Whirly-Bat

This large maze features walls shaped like "E"s and "S"s, while four enemies patrol in straight lines between the letters. The arrangement of walls in conjunction with the enemy routes mean that the enemy always has uninhibited vision down the corridor they are patrolling, which can make collecting tokens within their routes pretty tricky. The corners of the letter-shaped walls can be used to avoid enemy sight while letting them pass by, but it can also trap you if an enemy has already spotted you. The vehicle token is located between the two lower "E"s.

Survival[edit]

  • Reward: Geoff Johns

The Survival mission places you on a moving floor facing a row of enemies. You must advance along the moving floor while jumping over gaps and avoiding the deadly lasers the enemies fire. You'll get plenty of warning before a laser is fired as the floors in front of the enemies turn red. The lasers don't take up the space of the whole column, so it is possible to dodge two lasers next to each other simply by staying between them. The character token appears at the back of the battlefield near the start, so you'll need to get really close to the row of enemies to collect it. Once enough time has passed, the virtual enemies will die simultaneously and the minigame will be cleared.

Block Hopper 1[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick

The Block Hopper missions are all about platforming. You must jump across a series of rising and falling blocks to reach the gold blocks that serve as checkpoints. Your ultimate goal is to jump to the green block at the end. This first Block Hopper challenge is simple enough, as the blocks are placed really close to each other and the timing is fairly lenient. Some blocks are red herrings that lead to dead ends, so it's advisable to observe the pattern of the blocks' appearances to determine which path to take.

Block Hopper 2[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick

The timing for this Block Hopper mission is a bit more challenging. Often, a new block appears immediately after an old block falls, so you must think fast when jumping to the next checkpoint. Sometimes, two blocks will appear next to each other simultaneously, but they drop just as fast as a single block. Since it takes longer to jump across the two blocks, you may want to try jumping diagonally depending on the situation to skip some of the block pairs.

Block Hopper 3[edit]

There's no more rewards for Block Hoppers from here on out, so the rest of these missions are just for self-challenge. Now, you are forced to jump on both blocks of a twin block pair, so your timing must be tight to make it across. There are also sections where jumping between two blocks are necessary to advance. Other than that, it's the same platforming as always.

Block Hopper 4[edit]

The last Block Hopper mission goes back to the basics, with blocks aligned horizontally and vertically, no diagonal jumping needed and no double blocks to confront. However, the blocks rise and fall slightly faster, and the distance between two checkpoints is also much larger. There are multiple paths you can take to reach the goal. Watch out for some block formations that look like shortcuts. You may not have enough time to jump across these shortcuts, so it's safer to follow the actual, long way around.

Shooting Range 1[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick, Bat-Rocket (Batman-Pod)

This is a simple shooting game. You stand on a stationary platform and have to aim your laser beam to kill the enemies dressed in red, but not any of the civilians. You have to defeat 25 enemies in this stage to clear it. It's a simple three-tiered arena with enemies and civilians running across the tiers. Aim at the top-left corner at the start to shoot down a doughnut, which nets you a vehicle token and a potential achievement.

Shooting Range 2[edit]

  • Reward: Gold Brick

It's still the same three-tiered structure and gameplay rules as before, but now you need to shoot down 30 enemies. Occasionally, parts of the back wall will descend, revealing a character that can either be a foe or an ally behind it. You can shoot the foe to lower your time, or ignore it altogether if you don't want to accidentally hurt a friend.

Churning As We Go, Bear-fisted Beatdown, Virtual Insanity[edit]

These VR Missions are part of quests in the Batcave, so they will be described in detail on that page instead. However, once you clear those quests, you can still access the VR minigames anytime you want.
