Labyrinth (Famicom)/Area 3: Depression Forest
Depression Forest is home to the insane Fireys and the mischievous Kiris. This stage takes place in a large wide open area, which leaves you fairly vulnerable to the intensity of the enemies attacks. You must deal with fairies as well as enemies that like to shoot at you, which makes it difficult to avoid getting hit. Even though you may take a bit of damage, there are four lipsticks and two clocks to collect, which can help you postpone the need to use up a valuable Labyrinth Book.
If you climb down the stairs labeled C, you will eventually wind your way to stairway D which leads to a small island upon which the key can be found. Since you should have three coins collected by this time, you can exchange them with the Wiseman for the bead ring which doubles your attack power, or the magic wand which halves the amount of damage you take. Using staircase A to collect the Crystal Ball can be a little risky. Once you collect it and return via staircase B, you will arrive near a series of pitfalls. Falling down any of these pitfalls will send you all the way back to the start of the area, so move very carefully when you return.
