Lan's Home[edit]

Head downstairs to check if Lan's mom is done making his snack. Right as you are going down, Lan's mom will scream. The oven is on fire and she is panicking. Talk to your mom then jack into the burning oven.

Oven 1[edit]

Head past the three programs and take the north path to pick up the mystery data that contains a Shotgun Q. The larger path is blocked by fire, so you will have to go around by taking the southern path. MegaMan will pause and confirm that the oven was hit by a WWW virus and you'll be attacked by one Mettool. Defeat the virus and keep heading forward and pick up the purple mystery data containing 400z.

Take the north-west path until you get a split and take the north-west path to find another mystery data containing a Steal A. Go back to the split and take the south-west path. Speak to the program to get the IceBlock program. The IceBlock can be used to extinguish 7 fires, but you can return to this program to recharge, however, any fires extinguished will return. Go where you came from and MegaMan will get hit by fireballs and lose consciousness.

Lan's Home[edit]

The fire has intensified and Lan can't contact MegaMan. The repair man from NetSafety then contacts Lan and claims responsibility for the oven attacks and reveals that he really works for the WWW. Go upstairs and get the WaterGun out of the tool box. Head back to the oven and Lan will use the WaterGun on the oven.

Oven 1[edit]

MegaMan will then wake up and you can control him now. Take the first turn right and pick up the mystery data that contains a Sword B. Head down and use A button to extinguish only one flame. The mystery data behind the fire contains 200z. Step into the portal to go to the second oven area.

You only have 6 charges left of IceBlock. Head north-west and pick up the mystery data that contains a Shotgun Q. Use the IceBlock on only one of the flames for the northern path. You will find another mystery data containing 500z. You will come across a group of 3 flames. Use the IceBlock only on the northern one. Go past the flames and pick up the next mystery data containing a LilBomb T. At the group of 7 flames, use the IceBlock twice to open the south-west path. At the end you'll find FireMan, so make sure you've readied your folder. He will reveal the name of his operator, Mr. Match.

Attacks

  • His most common attack is coming to the front column and shooting his flamethrower for 20 damage. It lasts for quite a while but has a long charge up animation and can easily be damage by moving up or down.
  • His firetower attack will cause flames to erupt from the panel in front of him. It will then move forward heading towards your position doing 15 damage. This can be dodged by waiting until the last second, then quickly moving up or down when it's in front of you.
  • He can also shoot bombs on three random panels on your side. They will then burst, leaving fire on the floor. The fire can do 10 damage. This fire usually stays around long enough for him to pull off another attack, limiting your mobility. Even so should still have enough space to dodge as needed. Curiously, the bombs themselves can't actually damage you, only the fire can.

Strategy

FireMan constantly moves around with moderate speed, only stopping to attack. You should try and hit him when he's telegraphing his attacks. Pretty much every battlechip can stun him out of an attack, even 30 damage is enough. Be patient, and you shouldn't have any trouble with him.

After you delete FireMan, Mr. Match will tell you he found the program he was looking for; thus, the first part of the WWW plan is complete. The oven will be back to normal. Unfortunately, Lan's snack was burnt. At this point there will be time to explore other optional areas to collect battlechips and zenny. When you are done, go upstairs and sleep to end the day.

Dex's computer is connected to internet 1 a little bit off from the entrance to internet 2. In order to make this shortcut available, you have to travel through the access point from internet 1 to here.
