There are multiple control methods you can choose from in the 'Options' menu of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt. All controls differ from method to method, except for Start button, which always pauses the game.

In addition to the Start button, the touch screen features 4 different touch-sensitive buttons that you can press to switch between your available weapons, and to switch between Normal and Morph Ball Modes.

Control Type S - Stylus[edit]

  • Up dpad - Move forward; pressing Up dpad twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Down dpad - Move backward; pressing Down dpad twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Left dpad - Move left
  • Right dpad - Move right
  • L button - Fire weapon/Use Morph Bomb
  • R button - Fire weapon/Use Morph Bomb
  • A button - Move right
  • B button - Move down
  • X button - Move up
  • Y button - Move left
  • Stylus button - Drag across the screen to move the aiming cursor/look around
  • Stylus button - Double-tap the touch screen to jump

Control Type DR - Dual[edit]

  • Up dpad - Move forward; pressing Up dpad twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Down dpad - Move backward; pressing Down dpad twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Left dpad - Move left
  • Right dpad - Move right
  • L button - Fire weapon/Use Morph Bomb
  • R button - Jump
  • A button - Look right
  • B button - Look down
  • X button - Look up
  • Y button - Look left

Control Type DL - Dual Mirror[edit]

  • Up dpad - Look up
  • Down dpad - Look down
  • Left dpad - Look left
  • Right dpad - Look right
  • L button - Jump
  • R button - Fire weapon/Use Morph Bomb
  • A button - Move right
  • B button - Move backward
  • X button - Move forward
  • Y button - Move left

Control Type TR - Touch Shoot[edit]

  • Up dpad - Move forward; pressing Up dpad twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Down dpad - Move backward; pressing Down dpad twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Left dpad - Move left
  • Right dpad - Move right
  • A button - Switch weapon to Missiles
  • B button - Switch between Morph Ball and Normal modes
  • X button - Not used
  • Y button - Switch weapon to Power Beam
  • R button - Not used
  • L button - Fire weapon/Use Morph Bomb
  • Stylus button - Tap the touch screen to fire your weapon or to set a Morph Bomb (while in Morph Ball mode)

Control Type TL - Touch Shoot Mirror[edit]

  • Up dpad - Changes Samus between Morph Mode and Normal Mode
  • Down dpad - Not used
  • Left dpad - Goes into Power Beam Mode
  • Right dpad - Goes into Missile Mode
  • L button - Not used
  • R button - Fire weapon/Use Morph Bomb
  • A button - Move right
  • B button - Move backward; pressing B button twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • X button - Move forward; pressing X button twice while in Morph Ball mode will initiate a speed boost
  • Y button - Move left
  • Stylus button - Tap the touch screen to fire your weapon, or to set a Morph Bomb (in Morph Ball mode)
