Mirai Ninja/Stage 3
Once the background has reappeared behind Mirai Ninja and the stage title has appeared on the screen, start running to the right while eight Kanji characters are appearing in the sky and collect a Waza (green) powerup in front of you so you can throw three shurikens at once for a short period of time. Four Karasu Tengu will then fly past from the right side of the screen; you must jump up and throw three shurikens at each of them from behind to kill them before continuing to the right and trying to outrun three Fireballs that are dropping down on you from above and creating craters in the ground upon impact. Four Hanzou Hattori and three Sasuke will then start making their way towards you - you must throw three shurikens at each of them to kill them before continuing to the right and coming to a Karakuri that is slowly walking towards you while firing laser blasts at you. Four more Karasu Tengu will also fly past from the right side of the screen at this point; jump up and throw three shurikens at each of them to kill them before you start throwing shurikens at the Karakuri. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at the Karakuri to kill it, you can jump up to collect a Chikara (yellow) powerup above you if you need the extra energy before continuing to the right and coming to four more Karasu Tengu flying past from the right side of the screen - and once you have jumped up and thrown three shurikens at each of them to kill them, you can jump up to collect another Waza (green) powerup above you so you can extend the duration of your three-shuriken attack. Continue running to the right as four more Karasu Tengu fly past from the left side of the screen; once you have jumped up and thrown three shurikens at each of them from behind to kill them, you must try to outrun three more Fireballs that are dropping down on you from above and creating craters in the ground upon impact. Four more Karasu Tengu will then fly past from the right side of the screen as three more Sasuke start making their way towards you - and once you have jumped up and thrown three shurikens at each of them to kill them, a Domu will approach you from the front. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at it to kill it, continue running to the right as four more Karasu Tengu fly past from the left side of the screen; once you have jumped up and thrown three shurikens at each of them from behind to kill them, continue running to the right until you come to another Karakuri that is slowly walking towards you while firing laser blasts at you. Four more Karasu Tengu will also fly past from the right side of the screen at this point; you must jump up and throw three shurikens at each of them to kill them before you can start attacking the Karakuri. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at the Karakuri to kill it, you can jump up to collect another Chikara (yellow) powerup above you if you need the extra energy before continuing to the right and coming to an enormous battering ram with two Cannons firing projectiles at you mounted on its lower front. Once you have jumped up and thrown enough shurikens at the Cannons to kill them, jump onto the battering ram's lower front and run to the right until you come to a third Cannon that is facing away from you. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at this third Cannon to kill it, jump up to the battering ram's lookout tower - which has a Zaku swinging its ball-and-chain around in it, so you must time your jump carefully in order not to get hit by the ball. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at the Zaku to kill it, jump up onto the battering ram's barrel on its left side; it has three Tourou hovering in place high above it, which will fire beams down on you while you are passing under them. As you are dropping down off the end of the barrel, you will have the opportunity to collect a third Waza (green) powerup and throw three shurikens at once for another short period of time before landing on the ground below. Jump back onto the battering ram's lower front, then jump back up to the lookout tower before turning to the left and throwing three shurikens at each of the Tourou hovering in place above the barrel to kill them. Once you have done so, drop down onto the battering ram's caterpillar treads on its right side; the holographic image of the Evil Master Shikinami Kurosagi will appear just before you have landed, which means that it is time for a boss battle once again. Toyotomi Hideyoshi will initially attack by jumping into the air and trying to land on Mirai Ninja, so you must run under him to the other side of the caterpillar treads as he is doing so before turning around and starting to throw shurikens at him. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at him, he will pull the ripcord on his waist in order to create three exact copies of himself. All four Hideyoshi will then jump into the air and try to land on Mirai Ninja simultaneously, or try to slash him with their swords at close range - the best way to defeat them is to either jump up and throw shurikens at them, or crouch down and slash them with your own sword at close range. There is also a fourth Tourou hovering in place above the right side of the caterpillar treads, which will regenerate after a few seconds if you jump up and slash it with your sword at close range to kill it; and if you jump up and slash it with your sword at close range to kill it subsequent times, it will only be worth 10 points instead of the usual 340. Despite this fact, it is still a source of infinite points - much like the Semushi Men that Inari summoned from the ground in the first stage. Once you have thrown enough shurikens at each of the Hideyoshi or slashed them with your sword at close range enough times to defeat them, they will explode and leave a Chikara (yellow) powerup behind which you can collect if you need the extra energy. Mirai Ninja will then proceed to the fourth stage once all four of them have exploded - which, like the second stage, has a multitude of paths that can be taken through it. Also, if Mirai Ninja happened to defeat the last Hideyoshi while standing on the right side of the caterpillar treads, he will run off the edge of the treads and through the air (for a second time if he was standing on the right side of the roof when he defeated Oda Nobunaga on the second stage)!
