World 1-3 is the third level in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Normal Strategy[edit]
Normal Goal[edit]
Run on to the high brick to get a power-up. Then watch out for the Hammer Bro. In a group of blocks on an elevated platform, the center one contains a Yoshi Egg. Go straight ahead with Yoshi, eating fruit. The first Star Coin is floating in midair. Continue onwards, and use Yoshi to eat Koopas and spit their shells back out at enemies. When a Hammer Bro is encountered, Yoshi can eat the hammers and spit them back at the Hammer Bro. Continue on to the midway flag. In a cluster of Warp Pipes, there is a hidden one in an indentation in the wall, which leads to the first bonus room. Upon returning to the main path, there are Piranha Plants that shoot fire. By eating them or their fireballs, Yoshi can spit fireballs back at enemies, which can be used to get a high combo. Just after the first one of these, there is a ledge. Continue going, and collect the coins in this secret area. Upon dropping out of it, use Yoshi's flutter jump to reach the third Star Coin. Ahead, there are two more Hammer Bros. They can be defeated by jumping on them, jumping into the block they are standing on, or spitting a hammer or fireball at them. Afterwards, use a flutter jump to reach the top of the flagpole.
Secret Goal[edit]
Follow the above instructions up until you reach the ledge after the first fire-spitting Piranha Plant. Rather than going straight through, flutter jump up, and move to the right. You will be offscreen. Continue to the right, and you will collect several coins before entering a Warp Pipe. The Warp Pipe leads to the Secret Exit.
Bonus Rooms[edit]
The first and only bonus room is reachable by going through a yellow Warp Pipe hidden in a wall behind some Piranha Plants. In it, there are many coins and the second Star Coin. They can be reached by using Yoshi's flutter jump. Upon leaving, the player is returned slightly farther down the main track.
Star Coins[edit]
- Star Coin #1: Shortly after the first Yoshi, jump off the platform and flutter over to the first star Coin.
- Star Coin #2: The second star coin is after the midway flag at the group of warp pipes. The small piece of land is actually hiding a warp pipe, go down the pipe and flutter to the 2nd star coin.
- Star Coin #3: The third star coin is located at the red pipe hanging from the ceiling, wall jump off of the pipe to the final star coin.
