Pac-Mania/Tips

From StrategyWiki, the free strategy guide and walkthrough wiki

  • Unlike the previous Pac-Man titles, if Pac-Man eats one power pellet but eats another one before the first one wears off, the ghosts' point value does not reset.
  • On the later rounds, not all of the ghosts will come out at once, so try to eat as many pellets in the top half of the maze first before they do.
  • Jumping is very important in this game. Pac-Man can clear at least three ghosts in a single jump, so use this to your advantage.
  • When a ghost is hot on your tail, a good way to lose him is to turn around and jump over him (or her, in the case of Sue).
  • The US version of the game has a "courage bonus" feature that will activate once the player has got past the first Block Town world. If Pac-Man jumps over a certain amount of ghosts on each round, he'll get this bonus after the round has been cleared.
  • There is a "secret" maze on the Sega Master System version of the game. In order to get to it, the player must eat all the regular pellets on the first round (avoiding the power pellets) and then eat the special item that appears in the centre of the maze.
