Minigames can be played in order to get items from the shops. They are generally split into three categories: card games, activity games and puzzles.

Card Games[edit]

Card games are about using a deck of cards.

Poker[edit]

Blackjack[edit]

Sevens[edit]

Crazy 8s[edit]

Old Maid[edit]

Memory[edit]

Activity Games[edit]

Activity games are to do with sports and other activities.

Countdown[edit]

Countdown is a bit like Grandmother's Footsteps. A dog at the end of a path will count down from ten (numbers shown on top screen) and you need to move the stylus in a circular motion on the touch screen to move along. When the other dog gets to 1, stop moving! If you start moving while they are facing you, you will have to go back to the start. If you get all the way to them, you will get a point. You need to get all the way to them three times. Difficulty changes the length of time you have. Also, the other dog won't just count in seconds. They may do it so fast you can't even see the numbers, or they may go really slowly. So, if you're moving, keep an eye on the top screen and listen out for the 'whoosh' of them spinning around!

Bowling[edit]

Air Hockey[edit]

Hide and Seek[edit]

Hula Hoops[edit]

Beats[edit]

Beats is a musical game, where you need to try and maintain the beat. There are two methods used in this game, and the first is by tapping on a tambourine on the touch screen. The second is by clapping. You need to do both of these. On the top screen will be two dogs and a moving bar. On the moving bar is a circle, and when the tambourine or clap icons pass through it you need to tap or clap! Getting them right will fill up the metre on the right side and if it's full at the end of the song then you've won!

The easiest pose for this game is to sit down with the DS on your lap. Try to clap with your hands as close as possible to the microphone or it might not pick up the sound.

Reversi[edit]

Puzzles[edit]

Puzzles are exactly what the name suggests, and there are four different types.

Jigsaw puzzle[edit]

Jigsaw Puzzle is probably the easiest minigame. There will be a grey image on the top screen, showing you what the puzzle looks like, and the pieces will be on the touch screen. By touching it with the stylus, you can pick it up. Drop it next to a piece it fits to and they will stick together. You can then pick up that set of pieces and so on. When you have all the pieces stuck together, the puzzle will float into the border and you will have won.

Asian Puzzle[edit]

In this game, the goal is to get the large puzzle piece out of the gap at the bottom of the screen. There are lots of other pieces which you need to slide around as well, and you need to work out how to get the big puzzle piece to the opening. The easiest way to do this is to move it one space at a time, and then move the other puzzle pieces around. The harder difficulty you are playing in, the less time you have to do it.

10-Piece Puzzle[edit]

Take Two[edit]

In Take Two, on the touch screen will be a load of tiles. First of all, you need to touch a tile. Then touch a tile with the same picture on which the first tile has a clear path to. So, for example, you could choose two tiles that were next to each other (but not diagonally) or touch two at the very edge, as there is a gap at every side. A blue line will appear to show you what path there is to the second tile. These paths cannot have more than two corners. You need to keep taking the tiles until the board is empty. You need to take them all before time runs out, but you get an extra five seconds for every pair you take.
