The first thing you see is a fly through of the city in a middle of a thunderstorm. You then see a silhouette of someone about to stab. The figure freezes and splits to another figure. The two figures disappear through different windows. You then see a few random shots: A knife flying, a pot breaking, a strange looking doll, and finally a silhouette of a woman looking like she stabbed someone.
In this episode that is not in the original Game Boy Advance version. You'll be investigating a murder with new features the Nintendo DS has to offer, with a help of a replacement assistant, whose sister is been a suspect of a murder who claims to have done it. Your substitute assistant will show you scientific new ways to investigate, such as fingerprints, blood testing, etc. All can be done with the touch screen and the mic. Finally, something to do more than just Examining things.

Since Maya left, Phoenix hasn't been taking any cases he is offered. He took this case for personal reasons, but can he free a client who is admitting to the crime?

Lana Skye is the district Chief Prosecutor. She admits her guilt to Phoenix right from the start of the case. Proving Lana's innocence becomes hard work when she's working against you. She has a very cold attitude, but she hasn't always that way. Why? She is the sister of Ema Skye.

A detective of the Police Department. He was investigating something before he was murdered, but what was it?

Edgeworth is Phoenix’s rival. He became a prosecutor at the age of 20. He has a profound hatred for crime and criminals. Lana Skye is his superior. There are rumors flying around that he had forged evidence to win a guilty verdict in one case.

A lunch-lady whose sexy looks and great personality can easily seduce a man. She sells lunches for a living, especially to her "boyfriends". She has a connection to Lana Skye. Also known as the "Cough-Up Queen".

Lana Skye's little sister, who has a great interest for forensic science. She will be taking Maya Fey's place as your assistant for this case.
Gumshoe is absent minded and can be short tempered at times. Mostly he is a friendly and helpful character. He has great respect for Miles Edgeworth.
The District Chief of Police himself. Gant can say "yes" to any request would even give 50 bucks to the next person who asks. He likes to play the organ and swimming.
A wild west themed patrolman, or sheriff as he calls himself. He is calm and cares for his three cactus's, "Billy, Bogey, and Marylin". He really likes steak lunches.
A hyperactive and clumsy police officer, who is always prepared, perhaps too prepared. He works at the Police Station and, despite his spazzy nature, always seems to think the right way.
A deceased detective and brother of Jake Marshall.
A serial killer who is executed for his actions.
