This is the main play mode in Picross DS. It consists of 4 options:

  • How to Play - A set of four tutorials teaching you how to play the game. It's a good idea to go through these if you've never played a picross game before.
  • Easy Mode - 15 simple puzzles to get you started and show how picross puzzles work.
  • Normal Mode - 150 intermediate puzzles over 10 levels; plus 3 mini games in each level.
  • Free Mode - Advanced puzzles using "Free Mode" rules (you are not told when you make a mistake).
