Oldale Town is not exactly much more crowded than Littleroot Town, and you'll fast have seen everything possible : a Pokémon Center, where you can heal your Pokémon, and a Mart, where you can buy useful things such as Poké Balls and Potions. Don't waste too much time here, because the road is still long...

Arriving at Oldale Town[edit]
This small town really doesn't have anything special in it.
Upon entering, an enterprising young fellow gives you ten Potions and suggests you visit the Poké Mart. Along with the Pokémon Center, it's the only interesting building, but you don't need to visit it right this moment because the Mart is currently out of stock of some of its most important items: Poké Balls.
Go to the Pokémon Center to heal completely your Pokémon before going further. In these buildings, you'll also find the well-known PC on the counter, where you can access Pokémon stored in the Box System. As you can only have 6 Pokémon on you, it'll be very useful during the game. The number of available boxes will increase as you fill them with Pokémon, to arrive at a total of 31. Currently, you only have 7.
A scientist is blocking the exit to Route 102 to the left of the town, because he's sketching the footprints of a rare Pokémon. Once you've healed your starter, head north to Route 103.
Once ready for the route 102[edit]
Poké Mart | |
Poké Ball | 200 |
Potion | 300 |
Antidote | 100 |
Once you've finished what you have to do on route 103 and you got the Pokedex from Professor Birch, the Mart has restocked some merchandise: Poké Balls, for catching new Pokémon. It also sells Potions, to heal a Pokémon by 20 HP, and Antidotes, which cure poison. The more Badges you get, the more items they will sell to you.
If you buy 10 Poké Balls, you'll get a Premier Ball. It's identical to the Poké Ball, but with more style. You don't have much money at the moment, so don't spend it frivolously. It's best to pick up a couple of Antidotes, as some of the Trainers ahead have Wurmple that know Poison Sting, but beyond that the ten Potions and Poké Balls you've already been given should be plenty for now. With what you need in your Bag, you can now go catch the Pokémon you want! Go back to Routes 101 and 103 before heading to Route 102.
