Hau'oli City is the game's first big city, home to many interesting sights. It is so large, it is divided into three separate areas: the Beachfront, the Marina and the Shopping District.
The Pokemon Center sells the typical items.
The Shopping District[edit]
The Shopping District is where most of the attractions of Hau'oli City are. There is a clothes shop and a hairdresser for character customisation, the City Hall, the police station, and the mall (which isn't accessible yet, you need to defeat Hala).
There is also a shop selling malasadas, a special treat of the Alola region. The left clerk sells the Sweet Malasadas for 
200 each, which increase a Pokemon's Affection in Refresh, and the right clerk sells Big Malasadas for 350 each, which work similarly to the previous 'regional treat' items, acting as a Full Heal would.
The Mall[edit]
This only applies after defeating Hala.
The mall has a number of shops:
- the Gracidea, which is a more expensive fashion shop
- Antiquities of the Ages, which sells plates and legendary artifacts
- Move Tutors, which teach Pledge moves and ultimate moves
- the Battle Buffet.
Marina[edit]
There is not much here so far, except the ferry terminal, which has no use.
At the marina is your first encounter with Team Skull.
