Not much of an issue there. However, even Pichu can be annoying if you chose Popplio, with its Thunder Shock giving out super-effective damage. In any case, the battle should be over quickly. After the battle, you obtain the Z-Ring from Hala. This ring lets you perform Z-Moves, but only if you have the right Z-Crystal to go with it (somewhat similar to Mega Evolution). You will be able to get a Z-Crystal once you defeat Ilima in your first trial, but that won't be for a while. In any case, you go back home and rest.
In the morning, Lillie will be at the door, asking to guide you to the Pokemon Research Lab, outside Hau'oli City. First, your mother gives you 
30,000 so you can buy some items. Now you leave, and Lillie will explain about her Cosmog. There's now nothing much to do, unless you continue to the outskirts of Hau'oli City!
