The strange menhirs continue all the way in to Geosenge Town, a quiet settlement built around an ancient monument from 3,000 years ago. Most of the people here are visiting tourists, though there's a definite Team Flare presence as well. Could these mysterious and ancient stones get you any closer to uncovering the mystery of Mega Evolution?
Familiar and new faces[edit]
As you head toward the center of town, you'll catch a glimpse of a Team Flare grunt walking away. Follow him to the northwest area of the town. The grunt will face you and tell you about finding some treasure for Team Flare's happiness before walking down the path leading out. Calum/Serena will appear and inquire about the Team Flare grunt. Apparently, the path the grunt went down is a dead end, which you can confirm by following the same path, although the pile of rocks there is pretty suspect...
If you try to leave to the east, you will be stopped by Korrina, the gym leader you met back on Route 5. She says that one of her Lucario wants to battle you, and challenges your to battle!

Both of Korrina's Lucario have identical movesets, being Swords Dance, Power-Up Punch, Metal Sound and Feint. These Lucario hit hard, but the low base power of their attacks keep them from doing too much damage. They have poor defenses, so as long as your Pokemon aren't weak to Fighting or give it the chance to boost its power with Swords Dance or Power-Up Punch, you should have no problem taking them down quickly. After the battle, Korrina reminds you that she is the gym leader in Shalour City, which is just beyond Reflection Cave to the east. Looks like your rematch will come really soon!
Wandering a town of antiquity[edit]
Pokemon Center[edit]
There's nothing particularly exciting about this Pokemon Center, except for an old man next to the changing room. Talk to him to get TM66 Payback. This Dark-type move is not much stronger than Tackle, but its damage doubles if the user moves after the target, making it a powerful move to teach the slower Pokemon on your team.

Hotel Marine Snow[edit]
Despite the fancy name, the hotel in Geosenge is no different from the other hotels in Kalos. On the top floor, you can still find the usual cycle of tourists staying in the first room. The second room has a woman that will give your lead Pokemon a Downcast Ribbon if you visit during a Wednesday. On the right room is Mr. Bonding, who will bestow you with the Speed Power O-Power, the function of which is quite self-explanatory.
Exploring the monuments[edit]
Beside the Pokemon Center is a ring of rocks that you can sit on, with an item capsule visible on the other side. Loop around the rocks to grab the item, which turns out to be a Soft Sand. Make your Pokemon hold it to increase the strength of its Ground-type attacks. From Hotel Marine Snow, go right until you find an opening in the fence to enter the hotel's backyard. Go around the perimeter to find a Timer Ball, a special Poke Ball which increases in effectiveness if the battle has taken a lot of turns.
North of the Pokemon Center is one of the few residential houses you can visit. Go inside and talk to the scientist to receive an Everstone, which prevents your Pokemon from evolving when held. Keeping your Pokemon unevolved lets them learn moves faster, and can even let them learn exclusive moves that they couldn't learn had they evolved.
At the center of town are a trio of large rocks said to emit a mysterious power. There's a photo spot nearby that lets you take a photo with the rocks as a backdrop if you wish.
