Formations are the position of your characters on the battlefield. You can select a formation from the Formations section of the menu screen. Each formation grants a specific bonus to the party in battle.

To learn a new formation, you must choose a specific class as an Emperor. Each class that is not recruited from within Avalon will grant a new formation. To learn the new formation, talk to the Formations expert in Avalon Castle.

If the player is dashing while touching an enemy, or an enemy touched the player from behind on the field, you will lose your formation bonus and default to Free For All.

  • The characters at the back are hard to be targeted.

Dragon Stance[edit]

The Dragon Stance has the Emperor at the front, with all the other characters behind him/her. Order of attacks goes from the Emperor all the way to the last character.

Mu Palisade[edit]

Learned From: Saigo Clansman

Mu Palisade is a defensive formation. Each character has their speed greatly reduced, making it likely they will attack after the enemy. However, because each character is auto-defending until their turn, your party will sustain significantly less damage. This is a great formation to use when your are fighting enemies which deal heavy damage.

Order goes from the Emperor all the way to the back.

  • All characters receive a large speed penalty and auto-defend until their turn.

Rapid Stream[edit]

Learned From: Armed Merchant

With Rapid Stream, all characters will move before the enemy moves. However, their evasion is lowered.
