The game takes place over 16 stages. Each stage is composed of five different layouts, with four different varieties of terrain. The following table explains the terrain layout for each stage. In certain stages, the left and right halves of the terrain are reversed. This does not mean mirror image. It means that if the original layout of one row of a stage was W-X-Y-Z, then the reversed version of that row will be Y-Z-W-X. Examples of each terrain type can be seen below.

Each stage contains six secret ZEGU tiles. Stage 8 and 16 contain an additional seventh. You are awarded an increasing number of bonus points for every ZEGU tile that you collect, starting with 500, and increasing through 1000 → 4000 → 10,000 → 40,000 and ending with 80,000 bonus points for collecting the sixth ZEGU tile. If a seventh ZEGU tile is collected, it will also be worth 80,000 points. To collect a ZEGU tile, you must first shoot it 3 times to reveal its location, and you must shoot it 9 times to destroy it. If you succeed, the bonus point will be displayed on the screen.
The tables below will reveal the locations of each ZEGU tile as they would ordinarily appear on the odd stages when the right and left layouts of the terrain are not reversed. Therefore, if you are on an even stage, the location of the tiles is in the same general position along the stage, but on the opposite side.
