Star Wars: Battlefront II feature many new characters. In this sequel, Heroes/Villains are now playable. Also, there are new infantry units and vehicles, which include space combat vehicles.
Galactic Republic[edit]
On the Republic faction, there are eight infantry units. These include Clone Trooper, Heavy Trooper, Clone Engineer, Clone Sniper, Clone Commander, Jet Trooper, Clone Pilot (Space Only), and Clone Marine (Space Only). The Heroes that represent the Republic are Obi-Wan, Ki-adi-Mundi, Aalya Secura, Mace Windu, and Yoda.
Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS)[edit]
The CIS are comprised of eight units; Super Battle Droid, Assault Droid, Assassin Droid, Engineer Droid, MagnaGaurd, Droideka, Pilot Droid (Space Only), and Droid Marine (Space Only). CIS Heroes are: The Emperor, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, General Grievous, and Jango Fett.
Galactic Empire[edit]
The Empire is comprised of eight units: Stormtrooper, Shock Trooper, Scout Trooper, Imperial Engineer, Imperial Officer, Dark Trooper, Imperial Pilot (Space Only), and Imperial Marine (Space Only). Empire Heroes are: The Emperor, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker and Boba Fett.
Rebel Alliance (Rebels)[edit]
The Rebel Alliance consists of eight units: Rebel Soldier, Rebel Vanguard, Rebel Marksman, Rebel Smuggler, Bothan Spy, Wookiee Warrior, Rebel Pilot (Space Only), and Rebel Marine (Space Only). Alliance Heroes are: Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Luke Skywalker/Pilot Luke Skywalker.
Note: Some maps may have other factions heroes based on the era set, ex. During Galactic Civil War on Mustafar, Obi-Wan appears as the hero for the Rebels)
