Starship 1 is a first-person shooter arcade game that had been released by Atari in 1977; it utilizes a Motorola M6502 (running at 750 KHz), and the player must use an analogue yoke to take controls for the eponymous "Starship 1", with two thumb buttons, to make it fire out lasers and Star Trek-inspired photon torpedoes at the enemy ships. You must also watch out for planets as crashing into them will slow you down (and the number of crashes shall be recorded in that top-right corner of the screen) - and, there are four different types of enemy ships, which are worth between 50 and 500 points when destroyed. You can also change the starship's speed from slow to fast by using the lever on the right side of the yoke; you shall also receive five photon torpedoes at the start of the game, and using one will destroy all enemies currently on screen. If you manage to reach 3500 points before your starship "fuel" (timer) runs out, the game will be extended in "hyperspace", for thirty more seconds - and after that, the text "YOU HAVE SAVED THE FEDERATION!" will appear on the screen but if you inserted more than one coin into the cabinet, an additional text "SENSORS DETECT ANOTHER QUARTER" will appear below it and you will get to play again. One of the enemy ship types also bears a striking resemblance to the U.S.S. Enterprise; you can see it for yourself in the gameplay screenshot below.
