StrategyWiki:Cleanup project

The StrategyWiki cleanup project aims to improve the quality of writing, templating, categorising and layout in every article in the wiki to attain better consistency throughout. A lot of our work stems from discussion of new ideas on the forums.

[edit] Periodic tasks

Fix all pages with:
- broken redirects (last done on May 14, 2008)
- double redirects (last done on May 14, 2008)
- missing nums (last done on May 14, 2008)
- missing Header Navs (last done on May 14, 2008)
- subpage nums (last done on May 14, 2008)

Categorise:
- all uncategorised categories — only the 11 core categories should remain; those are currently: Companies, Dates, Engines, Games, Genres, Guides by completion stage, Miscellaneous, Modes, Official pages, Series, Systems
- all uncategorised main pages (uncategorised pages list)/uncategorised main pages (pages needing categorisation category, 18 pages)
- files in the file list (last done through letter "S") / uncategorised images (last done on 4/19/08)
- all TODO lists without a priority (0 TODO lists)

Check for bad/duplicate:
- unused categories
- unused files
- wanted categories, and create the other categories
- wanted pages (5639 pages on 05/10/06)
- redirects

Add:
- links on dead-end pages (last done on 7/23/07)
- links to lonely pages
- rename template to images (last done through letter "S")
- rename template to pages
- boxart to pages needing box artwork (if the game never came in a box, a logo or screenshot will do, 156 pages)
- transparency to all images needing transparency (18 images)

Remove:
- references to deprecated templates (2 templates)
- deprecated template usages from pages (23 pages)
- duplicates of general templates in guide-specific templates (239 templates)

Rename:
- templates to sensible, standard names in guide-specific templates (239 templates)
- any pages needing renaming (125 pages)

Deal with:
- pages with possible copyright violation (3 pages)
  - Add sources to pages marked with copyvio with no source provided (1 pages)
- requests for deletion (10 pages)
- images in Category:Game images

Clean up:
- pages containing drivel (162 pages)
- pages lacking control images (41 pages)
- pages needing cleanup (714 pages)
- pages needing wikification (327 pages)
- pages to be merged (32 pages)
- pages containing spelling mistakes

Expand:
- stubs (2080 pages)
- works in progress (234 pages)
- pages needing an infobox (18 pages)

Categorize pages: (All games)
- according to multiplayer or single player
- according to year and day of release, using years and days
- according to developer, producer and hardware
- according to genres
- according to series
Categorize images (Uncategorized images)
Add infoboxes to every guide
Add {{Header Nav}} to every guide page
Add game art and images to pages where appropriate
