Street Fighter: The Movie/Characters/Blanka
Click here for more information about Blanka's other fighting game appearances.
Blanka was a supporting character in the live action film. He served as a soldier in the A.N. (Allied Nations) and the best friend of its leader, Guile. His full name in the film is Carlos Blanka (aka Charlie). This and his story contradicts Blanka's original story and parts of Guile's as Guile and Blanka were not friends and Charlie, who dies before Street Fighter II and Blanka aren't the same person. Also Blanka's first name in SF2 is actually Jimmy.
He is one of two characters to only be in Street Fighter: Real Battle On Film, the other was Dee Jay. The human Blanka from the movie and in the video game's screenshots was played by Robert Mammone and the beast Blanka in both the movie and game was played by Kim Repia.
Carlos Blanka is a A.N. soldier under the command of his best friend, Col. Guile. He was one of the sixty people taken hostage by the dictator, General Bison. Once Bison found out that Blanka was Guile's friend, he forced Dr. Dhalsim to turn him into a savage monstrous beast. Dr. Dhalsim made sure Blanka didn't loose his human side in the process, and after a brief fight with Guile, Blanka came to his senses.
When Bison was defeated, Blanka refused to escape with Guile, feeling he would never be accepted in society as he was. Along with Dhalsim, Blanka remained in Bison's fortress until it collapsed. In the game's ending it is revealed that Blanka's body was never found, while Dhalsim, alive is trying to find a cure for him.
