Highlight any regularly selectable character that you want to play as. Press and hold down start, Image:Arcade-Button-MPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png and wait until Akuma appears. The game will end whether you lose the battle or not, but if you win, you get to watch the credits.

[edit] Dramatic Battle

The Dramatic Battle is a featured inspired by the Street Fighter II anime, which concludes with a two-on-one battle of Ryu and Ken versus M. Bison. That scene is reconstructed in the game for two human players to experience. Ryu and Ken share one life bar, as well as one super meter. Ryu and Ken can not hurt each other, but M. Bison can damage both players simultaneously. Note that if you lose the battle, you can repeat it by having the first player select Ryu with Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png, and the second player select Ken with Image:Arcade-Button-HPunch.png, instead of re-entering the entire code.

Have two people join a game. Player 1 should be on Ryu and Player 2 on Ken. Both should hold start, and press Image:Arcade-Stick-Up.png Image:Arcade-Stick-Up.png then release start. Player 1 must then press Image:Arcade-Stick-Up.png Image:Arcade-Stick-Up.png Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png and Player 2 must press Image:Arcade-Stick-Up.png Image:Arcade-Stick-Up.png Image:Arcade-Button-HPunch.png

[edit] Fight against your character's mid-boss

To fight against your character's mid-boss, you must not lose any rounds, and you must win five matches with a Super Move finish or a Custom Combo finish before your sixth opponent. The next opponent after your fifth win will be the mid-boss.

To fight against Shin Akuma, player one must choose the Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png color while player two must choose the Image:Arcade-Button-LKick.png color. You must fight to the boss stage without losing a round. You must win with at least three perfect victories, and you must with at least five Super Move finishes or Custom Combo finishes.

Select Survival Mode. Press and hold Image:SuperNintendo-Button-R.png and the Start button while choosing your character. The final boss will always be M. Bison.

Highlight Sakura and tap Start five times. Now when you select Sakura, each button will assign Sakura an alternate color scheme from the usual selection.

[edit] Dramatic mode (Arcade only)

Press and hold all three kicks, then press Start after inserting a credit. Dramatic battle pits you and a partner against Adon, Sagat, M. Bison, and Shin Akuma. You have an unlimited Super Meter, and you and your partner share a single life bar.

[edit] Survival mode

Press and hold all three punches, then press Start after inserting a credit. Survival mode pits you against all eighteen characters. Your health meter carries over from the previous fight, but you earn a little back after each fight depending on your performance.

[edit] Fight Shin Akuma

To fight against Shin Akuma, player one must choose the Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png color while player two must choose the Image:Arcade-Button-LKick.png color. You must fight to the boss stage without losing a round. You must win with at least three perfect victories, and you must with at least five Super Move finishes or Custom Combo finishes.

[edit] Fight Shin Akuma only (Arcade only)

Press and hold Image:Arcade-Button-MPunch.png and Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png, then press Start after inserting a credit. The character select screen will turn blue. The game will end whether you beat Shin Akuma or not.

[edit] Play as Cammy (Saturn only)

Start the game in arcade mode and choose M. Bison. Play until you obtain the high score. As the first entry on the high score chart, enter CAM as your initials. Cammy will be unlocked in Versus Mode and Training Mode. In one of these modes, highlight M. Bison and press Start until you see Cammy's portrait.

[edit] Street Fighter Alpha 3

The color of the title screen denotes what secrets are currently available. After a few weeks of play, the title screen will change color, so in a few months after your SFA3 machine has been installed, it should reach the final color (light blue). There are also codes that enable you to unlock these modes at the time of your choosing. In order to completely enter these codes, you must exit the test mode, insert a credit, and press and hold Start until the character selection screen is completely drawn. Then restart the machine. A (1) indicates that the input must come from the player 1 side, and a (2) indicates the player 2 side. The explanation of the colors and their unlock codes is as follows:

[edit] Random Select

The Random Select squares are normally invisible. There are two for the first player and two for the second. The 1P squares are located above Dan and below Zangief. The 2P squares are above Akuma and below Dhalsim. When you've highlighed a Random Select square, it will show each character's portrait quickly, and when you press the button, you'll get whatever character was shown at the time. When selecting a normally-playable character via Random Select, the button you press determines the ISM chosen: Press Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png or Image:Arcade-Button-LKick.png for X-ism, press Image:Arcade-Button-MPunch.png or Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png for A-ism, and press Image:Arcade-Button-HPunch.png or Image:Arcade-Button-HKick.png for V-ism. If you've used the Random Select square to pick a hidden character, then you still get to select their ISM manually from the menu. This doesn't apply (for either normal or hidden characters) if you've previously selected Classical Mode. Note that there are two colors for your character's clothing in either ISM (depending on whether you use Punch or Kick to choose your character).

[edit] Hidden characters

  • M. Bison: Pause on Karin for five seconds, then move to any Random Select square, hold the Start button, and press any button.
  • Juli: Pause on Karin for five seconds, then move to any Random Select square. If the square is on the left side of the screen, choose her by holding Left and pressing any button. If the square is on the right side, then hold Right and press any button instead.
  • Juni: Pause on Karin for five seconds, then move to any Random Select square. If the square is on the top of the screen, choose her by holding Up and pressing any button. If the square is on the bottom, then hold Down and press any button instead.

[edit] Hidden modes of play

  • Classic Mode: Insert your money, hold down Image:Arcade-Button-HPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-HKick.png, and press Start.
  • Mazi Mode: Insert your money, hold down Image:Arcade-Button-MPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png, and press Start.
  • Saikyou Mode: Insert your money, hold down Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-LKick.png, and press Start.

You can release the punch and kick buttons once you're at the Player Select Screen. Then, pick your character.

[edit] Hidden battle modes

  • Final Battle Mode: After picking your ISM, hold Start+Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png+Image:Arcade-Button-HPunch.png. You'll fight Final Bison for one battle only. It's just like the last battle; win and you get your ending, lose, and you get the bad ending.
  • Dramatic Battle Mode: Hold Image:Arcade-Button-LKick.png+Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png+Image:Arcade-Button-HKick.png, then press Start. Keep holding those buttons at Player Select Screen for a moment. You'll fight a 2 on 1 battle for 6 rounds, in which you face two CPU-controlled opponents.
  • Survival Mode: Hold Image:Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-MPunch.png+Image:Arcade-Button-HPunch.png then press Start. Keep holding those buttons at Player Select Screen. You'll get to fight all 27 characters in continuous one-round battles. Furthermore, you carry over any life, SC, or CC energy to each new battle, instead of getting it replenished after the battle (although you earn life back by how well you fight). If you lose, then the game ends without you being able to continue.

  • Alternate Dramatic Battles: Dual Battle (A + A') and Dramatic Battle (A + B): Beat Dramatic Battle Mode once with Juni & Juli and once with Ryu & Ken. Accessible under the Dramatic Battle listing.
  • Guile: (96:00) Clear the 'vs. Sakura' USA course in World Tour Mode. You must have cleared 19 courses previously, and your total level must be at 27 or higher to access this course.
  • Evil Ryu: (120:00) Clear the 'vs. Ryu' Japan course (on Gouki's island) in World Tour Mode. You must be at level 30 or higher to access this course.
  • Shin Akuma: (180:00) Clear the 'vs. Gouki' Japan course (on Gouki's island) in World Tour Mode. You must be at level 31 with at least 2 ISMs mastered to access this course.

Select the character of your choice, then press and hold Image:Playstation-Button-L1.png and Image:Playstation-Button-L2.png while you choose your ISM (or hold it right after you select your character, if you're using Classical Mode). Keep holding the buttons until Shin Gouki is listed as your opponent on the VS screen.

In Final Battle mode, select a character, Ism, and style. When selecting a speed, hold L button abd R button to fight against Shin Akuma. Shin Akuma uses a random Ism.

Play through Arcade Mode on level 8 difficulty using a World Tour character to earn the Status Plus ISM.

Beat the Survival Mode Arcade with your fighter. A new ISM plus name Super Smash Guard that combins Infinite Guard and smash guard will be gained.

With ISM-Pluses, you can boost your fighter's attributes in various categories. You can turn each one on or off through the Options menu. You will receive a new ISM-Plus category by completing Final Battle Mode in the following order:

  1. Alpha Combo: Perform basic Chain Combos
  2. Alpha Cancel: Cancel any regular move into any special move
  3. Super Zero Cancel: Cancel any special moves into any Super Combo
  4. Super Guard: Do not receive damage when blocking any move
  5. Infinite Guard: Infinite Guard meter
  6. Auto Guard: Automatically guards all attacks
  7. Air Guard: Any ISM can perform an Air Block
  8. Alpha Counter Plus: Alpha Counters inflict more damage
  9. Hard Body: Take less damage guarding, cannot be dizzied.
  10. Guard Destroy: Deplete opponent's guard meter faster
  11. Gauge Plus: Super Gauge refills continuously
  12. Limit Off: Maximum offense, minimum defense in any ISM.

These manual cheats are entered at the title screen. You must finish entering these codes prior to the demo screen appearing or else it will not work. In all instances you will hear Ryu's traditional 'Hadouken!' confirming the code's entry.
