Street Fighter EX[edit]

Play as Akuma[edit]

Highlight Ryu, press and hold the Start button, and enter: Arcade-Stick-Down.pngArcade-Stick-Down.pngArcade-Stick-Down.pngArcade-Stick-Up.pngArcade-Stick-Up.pngArcade-Stick-Up.pngArcade-Stick-Up.png, then Arcade-Button-MPunch.png or Arcade-Button-MKick.png.

Fight Akuma[edit]

Get 8 continuous wins against the computer (do not lose a round), or 32 continuous wins against a human opponent.

Fight Garuda[edit]

Win with at least 2 perfects, 4 Super Combo finishes, at least one level 3 Super Combo finish, and a minimum number of comboed hits for particular characters:

  1. Allen, Darun
  2. Ryu, Ken, Zangief, Pullum, Cracker Jack, Blair
  3. Guile, Hokuto, Skullomania, Kairi
  4. Akuma
  5. none
  6. Doctrine Dark
  7. Chun-Li

Skullomania alternate colors[edit]

Highlight Skullomania, press and hold Start, and press any button to select Skullomania in a different color.

Time release characters[edit]

Allen, Blair, Darun, and Kairi all become selectable after a machine has been in operation for over approximately 400 hours. Move the cursor beyond the visible row of characters to select them. Akuma also become selectable without the use of a code after approximately 600 hours.

Play as Evil Ryu[edit]

Highlight Ryu, press Start once, then press Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Arcade-Button-MKick.png+Arcade-Button-HPunch.png or Arcade-Button-LKick.png+Arcade-Button-MPunch.png+Arcade-Button-HKick.png.

Play as Evil Hokuto[edit]

(This trick will only work once Evil Hokuto's portrait appears in the high score ranking chart, approximately two weeks after the machine has been in operation.) Highlight Akuma and press Start three times. Then highlight Kairi and press Start two times. Finally, highlight Hokuto and press Arcade-Button-MPunch.png or Arcade-Button-MKick.png.

Play as Cycloid β[edit]

(This trick will only work once Cycloid β's portrait appears in the high score ranking chart, approximately 200 hours after the machine has been in operation.) Highlight Pullum and press Start four times. Then highlight Ryu and press Start three times. Finally, highlight Blair and press Arcade-Button-MPunch.png or Arcade-Button-MKick.png.

Play as Cycloid γ[edit]

(This trick will only work once Cycloid γ's portrait appears in the high score ranking chart, approximately four weeks after the machine has been in operation.) Highlight Garuda and press Start five times. Then highlight Guile and press Start four times. Finally, highlight Doctrine Dark and press Arcade-Button-MPunch.png or Arcade-Button-MKick.png.

Fight Akuma in every stage[edit]

  1. Have one player accomplish earning a fight with Akuma in stage 10.
  2. Have another player challenge and defeat the original player.
  3. Have the original player continue the game and fight against the challenger.
  4. The original player should win the fight.

The game will be back on Stage 1, and the challenger in every stage will be Akuma.

Street Fighter EX Plus α[edit]

Enable the hidden characters[edit]

As you play through Expert Mode, you will earn points. Earn enough points, and a hidden character will be enabled:

Options Plus Menu[edit]

If you manage to successfully complete all 220 missions in mission mode, you will enable the Options Plus menu inside of the Options menu. Initially, only one menu option will be available. To enable the rest, set the enemy option to "Plus," which will permit you to fight against CPU Akuma and CPU Garuda, but prevent you from fighting against Dhalsim and Sakura. Defeat CPU Akuma by reaching him using the method described above. When you do, the remaining options will be open to you. The options that are made available to you as a result are only applicable to training mode.

Alternatively, it can also be unlocked, initially, by completing Arcade mode.

Unlock hidden characters cheat[edit]

On the main menu, highlight "Practice" and press Select button. Then press Up dpad, Left dpad, Down dpad, Left dpad and Select button again. If you see the "Here comes a new challenger" message, the hidden characters will be selectable.

Character quirks[edit]

Akuma Akuma's bead necklace will break apart and fly off if he is struck by a Super Combo.
Cracker Jack Ordinarily, Cracker Jack's bat is wooden, but you can select him with an aluminum bat instead. To do so, select him, and immediately press and hold Square button, Circle button, Up dpad, R1 button, and R2 button until the round begins. If you use his Batting Hero attack, his bat will be a different color and you will here a loud "ping" sound when you hit a projectile.
Darun Darun's belt will Gleam in his win pose if you successfully connect, and juggle your opponent, with the Indra Bridge Super Combo three times in a row. His eyes will gleam instead of his belt if you defeat the opponent with the third Indra Bridge.
Hokuto You can see Hokuto's fan win pose by killing your opponent with the Kyaku Hougi attack. The fans will grow to a very large size if you manage to win the battle using nothing but kicks and kick attacks (you may not press punch) and you finish your opponent with Kyaku Hougi.
Evil Hokuto An alternate version of Hokuto is selectable. To select her, select Evil Hokuto with any punch button, then release the punch button and press the other two remaining punch buttons, along with L2 button and Start button. Keep these buttons pressed until the first round begins. This Hokuto will have a different outfit, and will use paper wands instead of fans during Kyaku Hougi.
Ryu / Evil Ryu If you win 5 consecutive VS. battles against a human or computer opponent, Ryu's headband will grow longer. If you win 5 more consecutive battles it will grow longer still, and if you win 15 consecutive matches total, it will grow to its maximum length. Changing you character will reset this count.
Skullomania To receive a score when you perform the Skullo Face Slam, perform the move on your opponent. Immediately after Skullomania leaps into the air, press and hold Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Arcade-Button-MKick.png+Arcade-Button-HPunch.png. A score will appear in the lower left corner, and a crowd will applaud depending on how well you scored.

Team battle mode tricks[edit]

Once per game, you may allow the computer to take control of your fighter. Before a Team Battle fight begins, press and hold L2 button+Select button. You can also hide your selections from the other player by holding down L2 button before selecting your characters.

Barrel Bonus game[edit]

On the main menu, highlight "Practice" and press Select button. Then press Up dpad, Up dpad, Right dpad, Up dpad, Right dpad, Up dpad and Select button again. If you see the "Here comes a new game mode" message, the Barrel bonus game will be available. Enter the Practice menu, and select the new option called "Bonus". You need to input this code every time you play a new game. However, if you complete Expert Mode, you may enter the code, and then save your game, and it will remain available.

Street Fighter EX 2[edit]

Alternate outfit colors[edit]

Highlight any character, and select them with punch or kick. Then press and hold Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Arcade-Button-MKick.png+Arcade-Button-HPunch.png.

Play as maskless Vega[edit]

Select Vega. On the VS. screen, press and hold Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Arcade-Button-MKick.png+Arcade-Button-HPunch.png until the match begins.

Play as Shadow Geist or Kairi[edit]

Both characters become available for selection when all of the characters on the Score Ranking table have at least 500,000 points each. To unlock them automatically, enter the Test Mode of the arcade. Go to the Color Menu and input the following sequence of buttons from the Player 1 (left) side: Arcade-Button-HPunch.png Arcade-Button-LPunch.png Arcade-Button-LKick.png Arcade-Button-HKick.png Arcade-Button-MPunch.png Arcade-Button-LPunch.png Arcade-Button-LKick.png Arcade-Button-MKick.png Arcade-Button-LKick.png Arcade-Button-MKick.png Arcade-Button-MPunch.png Arcade-Button-LPunch.png Arcade-Button-HKick.png Arcade-Button-MKick.png Arcade-Button-MPunch.png Arcade-Button-HPunch.png. Play as Nanase and Garuda[edit]

These characters may only be activated after Kairi and Shadow Geist are available. They become available when all entries in the Score Ranking table add up to at least 28,000,000 points. To unlock them automatically, enter the Test Mode of the arcade. Time release characters (Arcade only)[edit]

Garuda, Shadow Geist, and Kairi each become available after the machine has been operating for a long period of time.

Garuda appears after 100 hours of activation.
Shadow Geist appears after 200 hours of activation.
Kairi appears after 400 hours of activation.

Once Garuda is available, on the Player Select screen there will be arrows to the left of Guile and to the right of Blanka. The arrows indicate how to select the available hidden time release characters.

Manually unlock bonuses[edit]

To unlock hidden characters and bonus games, you must go to the Main Menu, and press Select button the designated number of time next to the menu item specified.

Expert Mode Unlocks[edit]

Arcade Mode Unlock[edit]

Unlock Method
Vs. M. Bison II Complete arcade mode by facing and defeating M. Bison II once.
Garuda Complete arcade mode (view the a characters ending) with 10 different characters.
Shadow Geist Complete arcade mode with 5 additional characters.
Kairi Complete arcade mode with 5 additional characters, and face and defeat M. Bison II at least once.

Extra Random Select[edit]

In certain modes (Arcade, Vs, Team, and Vs. Vega II), you can have your character be randomly chosen every battle, simply by highlighting a random select square (? box), holding Start button, and pressing any button. When you hold Start, the words 'EXTRA' should appear, and during actual gameplay, your character's name will be in orange instead of white. After each battle (even for the bonus stages), your character will be randomly chosen (this also happens if you Quick Select after losing to Kairi or Shadow Geist).

Fight Shadow Geist[edit]

You can fight Shadow Geist on the 3rd or 4th stage. You must play without losing a round or continuing, and perform at least one Excel Combo per round on Stage 2 or 3. You don't have to kill your opponent with the Excel, but you do need to damage them while the Excel is active. If you have the rounds set to 1, then you need only do one Excel combo on stage 2 or 3.

Fight Kairi[edit]

You can fight Kairi on the 3rd or 4th stage. You must play without losing a round or continuing, and perform at least 4 Meteor Combo finishes and 2 Perfect wins before the 3rd or 4th stage in order for him to appear. If you have the rounds set to 1, then you need 2 Meteor Combo finishes and 1 Perfect win.

Fight M. Bison II[edit]

You can fight M. Bison II only after beating regular M. Bison. You must reach him without losing a single round or continuing. There are a few ways to make M. Bison II appear, but the simplest method is performed by beating Kairi or Shadow Geist, then beating M. Bison with a special finish (SC, MC, or Excel).

Unlock hidden characters[edit]

Every time you beat Original Mode, you will unlock a hidden character. They are unlocked in this order: Sagat, M. Bison, Garuda, Shadow Geist, Kairi, Pullum, Area, Darun, and Rosso. It does not matter what difficulty you play on or whether or not you continue.

Original Mode unlocks[edit]

Unlock Collect Alternate method Description
Announcer Sakura 10 Bronze Medals Beat the game with Sakura 8 times. Highlight Sakura and press Select button. Sakura will laugh. Select any character and Sakura will be the announcer for the fight.
M. Bison II 10 Silver Medals Beat the game with M. Bison 8 times. Highligh M. Bison and hold Select button, the press any button to select M. Bison II (only in Original Mode).
Evil Ryu 10 Gold Medals Beat the game with Ryu 8 times. Highligh Ryu and hold Select button, the press any button to select Evil Ryu.
Vs. M. Bison 10 Platinum Medals Beat M. Bison II and True M. Bison 4 times each "Vs. M. Bison II" and "Vs. True M. Bison" options are unlocked in Arena Mode.

Fight a secret character[edit]

In Original Mode, you can fight a secret character on Stage 5 instead of your normal opponent (Sagat). To do this, you must finish the first four stages with a Meteor Combo, Meteor Tag Combo, or Critical Parade. It's okay if you have to use continues. Depending on who you are playing as, you will fight these characters:

  • Hokuto or Nanase will fight Kairi at Stage 5.
  • Skullomania or Sharon will fight Shadow Geist at Stage 5.
  • Ken, Sagat, Sakura, M. Bison, or M. Bison II will fight Evil Ryu at Stage 5.

Fight M. Bison II[edit]

To fight M. Bison II, choose Original Mode and set the difficulty to Normal. By the time you reach the final stage, you must have earned 500,000 or more points, not used any continues, and finished off each character with a combo. To fight M. Bison II on Hard difficulty, you must have not used any continues by the time you reach the final stage. Sometimes, M. Bison II is your only opponent, while at other times, you have the choice of choosing between fighting him or regular M. Bison.

Fight True M. Bison[edit]

Play Original Mode with the difficulty set to Hard. By the time you reach the final stage, you must have earned 500,000 points and not used any continues. In addition, you must finish each round with a Meteor Combo, Meteor Tag Combo, or Critical Parade (which is the only way to earn that many points in only five rounds).
