Entering into the castle and heading down the corridor, you will run into another locked door, this one requiring three codes to unlock. These codes can be found by solving puzzles in the door to the left, the door to the right, and the drawer in the desk in the hallway.

Left Door[edit]

Click on the door on the left to open it. Inside, you will find the math marvel puzzle.

Expert puzzle

On the right is a grid of scrambled numbers and on the far left are mathematical operators. The puzzle here is to find a set of numbers and an operator that make a true statement. To form an equation, click on the number in the grid on the right, then click on the area in the equation to the left where it belongs. When all the numbers are in place, click on the corresponding operator from the choices to the left. If the equation is true, the numbers and operator will disappear and the chest will move one more step closer to the end.

There are several solutions to each puzzle, first of all because addition and multiplication operations are reversible. For instance, 2 x 3 = 6 and 3 x 2 = 6. Second, multiplication and division are closely related, as are addition and subtraction. So if one of the solutions is 2 x 3 = 6, then conversely, you can also enter 6 / 3 = 2 or 6 / 2 = 3. None of these numbers are included in this puzzle, but the example can be extended to them also.

When you get all four equations entered properly, you will receive a key to the end table and a code word. You will need this code word to get through the door at the end of the hall, but if you forget it, you can click on the open doorway from the hall to hear it again.

Right Door[edit]

Inside the right door, you will find a magic square puzzle. The object of this puzzle is to create a formation of the numbers given where the sum of each column, row, and diagonal add up to the same number- 15 in Novice, 34 in Standard, and 64 in Expert. Each number can only be used once and each square can only contain one number. The current sums for each row, column, and diagonal are shown outside the box.

For the Novice puzzle:

Expert solution

The Standard and Expert modes will have larger grids, though the rules are the same. For these two harder difficulties, the puzzle can be solved by following a series of simple steps. First, place the numbers in numerical order from left to right, moving on the next row when the one above is filled. When you are finished, the top left corner should have a "1" and the bottom right corner should have a "16" in Standard or "31" in Difficult. Swap the top right corner with the bottom left corner, then swap the top left corner with the bottom right corner. Focusing on only the inner four squares that don't touch the outer edge, swap the top left of these with the bottom right within this smaller square. Then swap the top right of these with the bottom left. This should make all the outer sums identical. If they are not, run back through the instructions and make sure that you didn't skip a step. The solution for the Expert puzzle is shown to the right.

Drawer[edit]

The third code lies in the drawer of the desk that has a boot perched on top. Click on the drawer to open it. Inside, you will find a slide puzzle. On Beginner and Standard mode, the slides will be numbered. On Difficult, the slide puzzle will be of the castle shown in the introduction.

To solve the sliding puzzle, you must either complete the picture or arrange the numbers in numerical order from left to right, top to bottom. To move the pieces, click on a piece next to the blank spot and that piece will move into the open space. The first step is to get the "1" piece into the top left corner. Do this by moving the pieces around until the blank spot is next to the "1", then click on the "1" to move it. Using this method, migrate it to the top left corner. Do the same with the "2" and "3" pieces so that the top row reads "1-2-3". Next, move the "4" piece so it is directly under that place it needs to be. When this is done, move the blank spot to below the "1". Move the "1" down and move the "2" into its spot, then the "3" into where the "2" was. Now move the tile that was in the top right into the blank spot and move the "4" up into the corner spot. Move the blank spot under the piece that used to be in the corner spot that the "4" replaced. Move it down, then move the "3", "2", and "1" back into their proper spots. Continue this until you are down to the bottom two rows. When you get to these rows, don't mess with the rows that are correct, but instead, spin the pieces around clockwise and counterclockwise. When a piece is below or above a the blank spot where it should be, move it from one row to the other. Eventually, they will be in the correct order and all you will have to do is rotate the two rows around until they are in the correct orientation.

Locked Door[edit]

Once all three puzzles are complete, you will have the code words necessary for getting into the next room. Recall what the code words are or write them down, then click on the door at the end of the hall. This will bring up a calculator-looking object where the code is to be entered. Using the grid shown below, find the clue given by each of the puzzles on the grid and enter the symbol to the left, then the two above into the device. Click 'Enter' and one of the bolts should disengage. After entering all three, the door will swing open, revealing the hallway leading to the next room.
