Before you start this game, check the difficulty through the "Options Menu". The order from easy to hard is low, guarded, elevated, high and severe. It's up to you to setup your controls and sensitivity before you go into battle. You can do this anytime.

Not to spoil anything but this is a tutorial to get you familiar with the game. However, the control scheme used in this game to the "Ford" as a default setting. This is strip down near the end of "Homeland" but a lot easier.

Learning the ropes[edit]

After the intro, starting at the destruction underground on sort of a grand scale, Prometheus through the ASE will ask you to look right and then left on both fuse boxes. Then it gives you the option to continue to adjust your controls that's been explained at the start. Anyway, you move with Neutral nunchuk and the tear-mite is about to appear so shoot it with B button. The weapon you use at the start is a SPAS or in a general sense, a shotgun.

The next section involves taking down the source. The tear-mites mainly comes out of the hatchery where the egg sacs were. You can shoot or hit the next tear-mite by shoving the Remote button forward. Since the next section is pretty small, you should have an easy time finding the three egg sacs around the room. Be wary that the red estinguishers can cause pain on not just enemies but could also hurts you so keep your distance on it. Once your done with the egg sacs and the enemies, reload by pressing Minus button. Then use your ASE by pressing Plus button to find two bio-nodes which is some yellow dot that it will reveal for you. All you have to do is hold B button until it's confirmed so that it will unlock the door you need to go through. Before you leave scan for a message on the left side where the node is to read the message before you move on.

Press Plus button to switch back to SPAS and continue on through the tunnel. You'll see a subway car stationed on its side. To jump on it, press A button and at that point, Prometheus would ask you to use the SCAR which is a mix of a machine gun and a sniper by pressing Right dpad, and snipe the two tear-mites chatting with each other with Down dpad. As you move out of the subway car, switch your zoom back, look behind you and shoot down two more tear-mites that's trying to ambush you.

Tear-mites and Drones[edit]

After you take the door on the left, you now get to contend with the drones and the conduits as the source for those aliens. The weapons the drones use is a Strike Rifle which is the alien version of a pumped up machine gun. There's only two conduits for you to destroy so it should be easy. Also to throw the grenade is to flick the Nunchuk button. Be mindful that grenades should be used as a last resort in terms of dealing with lots of enemies and conduits that takes a lot of hits from a standard gun. The secret message is on the right side where the conduit is. So search through until you find that message to read. To know where to go next, take out your ASE and tap B button to look at the line on the ground to the direction you're going.

From the next door, you should be at the platform where the large conduit is. So continue on the path, taking down more tear-mites until you reach the subway car where the barriers and the stairs were. If you reach that part, the final lesson is to find a cover that you can crouch on by holding C button for this moment. Then jump on side and go up the stairs to where the monsters are coming out. You can't destroy it but you should take care of the tear-mites and drones until there is no more left. Prometheus will calibrate the suit before allowing you to walk into the large conduit. Be forewarned that the third last level "Homeland" would be taken up a couple of notches by adding nodes and tougher aliens for you to deal with.

Controlling Agent Ford[edit]

The other buttons that you'll use that haven't been covered in this tutorial are the following: Left dpad for changing grenade types, Up dpad to spin 180 degrees, A button to interact and hold Z button to lock target and reveal the enemies health.
