Chapter 4[edit]

Seek random items on the ground[edit]

Possible items
  • First to fourth item:
    • Autumn Leaves
    • Fertiliser
    • Golden Scale
    • Green Clover
    • Khaki Bullet
    • Midsummer Coral
    • Quality Fertiliser
    • Red Volcanic Rock
    • Seeds of Spring
    • Wintry Powder
  • Fifth item:
    • Gnome Copper
    • Sylph Bowstring

In certain parts of Lazulis City, there is a chance that a seek prompt will appear for a shiny spot on the ground. In seek mode, a box will appear around the spot. Point at this box to reveal an item bag and collect it to receive an item. Another spot will appear as soon as you collect the item. You can chain this to find up to five items, but you need to be quick; the spot and item bag will eventually disappear.

The items are random, but the fifth item picked up is more valuable.

These item spots will respawn indefinitely. Simply walk a short distance away, return, and a spot should reappear.

Staring at people[edit]

In seek mode, some people will have a red cursor instead of the normal blue cursor. The red cursor means that person will react to you after holding the cursor on them for a few seconds. The following people will give you an item when you do this.

Item Location
Almond The elderly man near the fountain in Fountain Plaza.
Banana The man playing an accordion in the northwest corner of Castle Gate Plaza.
Coconut The boy outside of Horace's shop.
Dragon Skin The woman sweeping north of South Gate Plaza.
Dragon Skin The man plastering a wall, west of Fountain Plaza.
Dragon Skin The boy sitting above the Dye Shop in the Market.
Dragon Skin The man fishing on the east side of river bank near east bridge.
Magic Defence +1 for Zael The little girl in Windy Alley.
Ordinary Pumpkin The boy with his mother in South Gate Plaza.
Quality Fertiliser The cat southwest of the Upgrade Shop.
Wine The elderly man north of Central Plaza.

You cannot receive an item from the same person more than once. Once you receive the item, the red cursor will become blue, meaning they can no longer be interacted with.

Random stat boosts[edit]

Possible stat boosts
Name Effect
Draught of Vigour Set Max HP +10 for all party members
Sharpening Stone Set Attack +1 for all party members
Hardening Polish Set Defence +1 for all party members
Lazulis Ore Set Magical Attack +1 for all party members
Lazulis Powder Set Magical Defence +1 for all party members

Throughout the city, there are item bags that will give permanent stat boosts to your whole party. These are never found out in the open; they are tucked away in corners or alleyways.

When you are near these bags, a reel will appear which will determine what stat is boosted when you pick up the bag.

These item bags will respawn in fixed locations whenever you leave town (or enter a building that you can move around in, such as Ariela's Tavern) and return, so there is no limit to how many times you can collect these.

Windy Alley[edit]

Possible upgrades
Chain Name Effect
1 to 3 Steady Heart Arrow damage +0.1
4 Steadfast Heart Arrow damage +0.2
5 Unwavering Heart Arrow damage +0.5

The alleyway east of Horace's Shop, Windy Alley, occasionally becomes windy and blows small objects around. You can seek these objects to catch them for permanent arrow damage upgrades. Each gust will blow five objects and the more you catch in a row, the better the upgrade.

If you are patient enough, you can collect as many of these as you want. A good spot to farm these is near the intersection halfway through the alley. Face towards Horace's Shop and the objects will fly towards you.

Orchid Gang[edit]

There is a woman sitting on a bench west of the South Gate Plaza. Talk to her and she will steal 100 G from you. The gang will then split up and hide. You need to find the one who stole your money. The locations of the gang members are:

  • Braso: Above the entrance to Ariela's Tavern. (He has your wallet.)
  • Catoleya: On top of a light on the south gate.
  • Leilo: On top of a street light, south of Arganan Bridge.

You only need to seek Braso; the others will just tell you they don't have your money. Once you seek him, he will return your 100 G and you will receive a Dragon Skin.

Toy Coins[edit]

A boy in the South Gate Plaza will challenge you to find six Toy Coins hidden throughout the city. The locations of these coins are:

  1. The west side of South Gate Plaza.
  2. The southeast corner of Fountain Plaza.
  3. The southwest corner of the Market.
  4. The southwest corner of Central Plaza.
  5. East of the Goods Shop in Artisan's Way, on the road surrounding the Arena.
  6. Slightly south of Castle Gate Plaza, near a door on the west side of the road.

After collecting all the coins, return to the boy and he will give you a Hoe.

Charismatic Chef[edit]

In the Market, a chef is walking around. Talk to him and he will ask you to find ingredients for him. He is currently working on a monthly birthday party. Collect one of each of the following and give them to him:

  • Coconut
  • Wheat
  • Egg

He will reward you with 2 pieces of Gnome Copper.

This can be repeated any number of times. The chef will disappear after completing his quest, but he will respawn after leaving and returning to the city. You can also decline the request after accepting it, but this doesn't have any negative effect; you can still reaccept the request.

Old man on a bench[edit]

East of the two shops in the Market, there is an elderly man sitting on a bench. He asks you to sit next to him. Do so and eventually you will have to choose one of two options for a reward:

  • Select "Being strong" to gain Defence +1 for Zael.
  • Select "Good business acumen" to receive 100 G.

Budding Confectioner[edit]

In Artisan's Way, there is a girl in blue who cannot afford ingredients to make Coconut Milk. Bring the following to her:

  • Coconut
  • Sugar
  • Banana

She will reward you with 2 pieces of Gnome Copper. Similar to the Charismatic Chef, this quest can be repeated any number of times and you can decline it at any time.

Ingredients for the Arena Goods Shop[edit]

East of the entrance to the Arena, there is a tent that has run out of ingredients. Talk to the Cook and agree to pick up some ingredients for them. She will give you 3,000 G, which you can keep even if you don't need to spend it all. You need to give her:

  • Banana
  • Egg ×2
  • Coconut ×3

The reward is a Dragon Skin. The tent is actually a Goods Shop and it will now be open.

Comedy Actor[edit]

North of the Arena, there is a comedian sitting on a bench. Give him a Banana and he will turn it into 50 Prank Bananas for you.

This can be repeated multiple times. The comedian will leave, but will be back when you leave the city and return.

Trader[edit]

In Castle Gate Plaza, there is a Trader east of the save point. He is looking for materials to make a Pocket Watch. Bring him:

  • Copper
  • Iron

He will reward you with a Light of the Outsider. Like the Chef and Confectioner fetch quests, this is repeatable and can be declined.

Café Girl[edit]

In the northeast corner of Castle Gate Plaza, there is a café. Talk to the Café Girl and she tells you the nobles sitting there don't like her tea and she wants to get back at them. Fire a Prank Banana at each of the five nobles to make them fall out of their seats. You will be rewarded with one piece of Wheat.

You can repeat this by leaving and returning to the city, but the reward is only given out once.

Tent Watchman[edit]

On the east bank of the river, just south of the eastern bridge, there is a boy who is watching over a tent. You need to distract him to reach the treasure chest inside.

Shoot some Fireworks nearby and he will run out of the way. Grab the chest for a Dragon Skin.

Catching frogs[edit]

Possible locations
  • Near the fountain in Castle Gate Plaza.
  • Near the fountain in Fountain Plaza.
  • Near the well behind Ariela's Tavern (approach from the southeast).
  • Near the well behind the Dye Shop, north of Central Plaza.
  • Near the well north of the eastern gate.
  • On the wooden dock east of Arganan Bridge on the north side of the river.

Talk to the fortune teller and she will tell you the location of a frog. Visit that location. The frog will hop away if it sees you, so you need to approach it from behind. If you catch it, you will gain Agility +5 for your party.

You can catch up to six frogs for a total of Agility +30 for all party members. You can continue catching more frogs, but the reward is either a Green Clover or Golden Scale rather then an Agility bonus.

Talking to the fortune teller is what spawns the frog, so there is only one frog available to catch at a time. If you leave the city and return, the frog will disappear. You will also need to leave and return if the frog hops away or if you want to catch another, since the fortune teller only talks to you once per visit.

Frog Lover[edit]

There is a boy standing on the western-most dock on the south side of the river. He will challenge you to catch three frogs. Talk to him after catching enough frogs and he will teach you how to dive into the river.

Old Man of the River[edit]

You will need to be able to dive into the river.

Dive and swim to the northeastern end of the river. On the east side of the river, there are a couple ladders to climb. Here, you will meet the Old Man of the River. He will give you a Dragon Skin when talking to him for the first time.

The Old Man will count the number of times you have bumped into people, banged your head into signs, and fallen to the ground. When you perform these actions a certain number of times, he will give you a reward.

Bump into people
Count Reward
50 Leek
100 Frying Pan
150 Kitchen Knife
300 Dragon Fang ×9
Bang head on signs
Count Reward
20 Hammer
50 Axe
100 Lance
150 Dragon Fang ×9
Fall down
Count Reward
20 Pitchfork
50 Wooden Club
100 Chair
150 Dragon Fang ×9

There are plenty of people wandering around the city to run into.

You can only bump your head on the low-hanging signs attached to buildings. There is one attached to the porch of Ariela's Tavern.

On top of barrels and crates throughout the city, there are baskets of oranges. You can spill the oranges all over the ground. Walking on these oranges will cause you to slip and fall. There is a basket east of Ariela's Tavern and more in the streets surrounding Horace's shop. Prank Bananas also work, but unlike oranges, they disappear after a single fall.
