After the introductory conversation, you are in the captain's cabin. Go back outside, climb down the hatch, and walk to the door in order to enter the kitchen. Open the cupboard, and open a box of cereal, to collect a prize. Look at the prize to discover that it is a small key. Return to the cabin and use the key on the cabinet to the right. Open and look in the chest inside to pick up a piece of paper and cinnamon sticks.

Collecting the Ingredients[edit]

The piece of paper is a recipe, and in spite of all the items listed, only the following ingredients are necessary for the voodoo spell:

  • cinnamon sticks
  • breath mints
  • Jolly Roger*
  • ink
  • fine wine
  • chicken*
  • gunpowder*
  • cereal

* Items marked with an asterisk will disappear after being put into the pot.

You now have the chicken, breath mints, cereal, and cinnamon sticks in your inventory. Pick up the feather pen and then the ink. Go onto the ship deck, climb the rope ladder, and pick up the Jolly Roger. Climb back down onto the deck, into the hatch, and then into another hatch (not into the kitchen). Open and look into the puce-colored chest at the bottom-right corner for fine wine. Open the kegs on the left to pick up gunpowder.

Cooking[edit]

You now have all the necessary ingredients, so go to the kitchen. You may reduce the amount of redundant items in your inventory by attempting to use them in the cooking pot. These items include the T-shirt, 100% Cotton T-shirt, business card, small key, and feather pen. Items that cannot be thrown into the pot may or may not be essential in the future. After mixing each of the eight necessary ingredients, a voodoo spell is activated.

Click anywhere in the play area to regain consciousness. Use the map on the red hot fire (below the cooking pot) to acquire a flaming mass; if the map is not in your inventory, use the dusty book in the captain’s cabin. Pick up the pot on the counter, and climb up one level. Go down the other hatch, pick up the giant piece of rope on one of the kegs, pick up more gunpowder, and climb up to the ship deck. Use the gunpowder on the cannon nozzle, and the giant piece of rope on the cannon. Use the flaming mass with the fuse (i.e. the rope on the cannon) and quickly run to the cannon nozzle.
