Drivel specifics: First person

In this house, you are living with Mimi or Dudley Landgraab depending on your character's gender. This level can be challenging but if you know how to go about it, it won't be too bad.

Goals[edit]

  1. Upgrade your abode: This is essentially the same as last time. Again, I don't know the magic number that is needed for this to be considered complete, but I usually can get it accomplished just by buying new flooring for all of the rooms. A good bet is the Pine Soul Wood Floor because it looks nice and increases the value a good amount without being too costly. You can also do this quickly by buying an Aromaster Whifferpuff Gold and placing it in whatever bedroom you have chosen for your Sim. This will also help you out with later goals. Don't sell anything. You'll just have to pay for it later.
  2. Throw a raging party: I have not figured out a "perfect" formula for throwing a raging party, but there are a few factors that can help. First, make sure your Sim is in a good mood. Then, get Mimi/Dudley to grill a bunch of burgers (this is the only thing resembling housework that they will do, so take advantage of it). Go to the phone and select the "throw a party" option. Be sure that you're near the door to greet your guests. Soon enough, a menu should come up saying "Congratulations, this party rocks!"
  3. Get promoted to career level four: Basically, just follow the steps to get promoted and go to work in a good mood. This is where the Aromaster can come in handy because you can set it to Lavender and Marjoram right before you go to sleep and you will wake up with full Fun, Energy, and Comfort. This may also be where you have to start making family friends to get promoted. Mimi/Dudley doesn't count for this house, so while it helps to get close to them for later houses/promotions, it's not worth sinking a ton of effort into.
  4. Get promoted to career level five: Same idea as the rest of the promotions.
  5. Move out with one of Mimi's/Dudley's friends at a party: I am pretty sure you can only move out with one of the Roomies, although I've never tried to move out with Fran or Freddy so I wouldn't know for sure. To complete this goal, you need to complete the others first. If you haven't, the person whom you ask will tell you which goals you need to complete. To move out with someone, get close enough to them that they are considered a family friend. This also helps with the promotions. Then, be sure that you're in a good mood and that the party is up to "raging" standards (although it won't tell you if it is or isn't). Then, ask the person to be your roommate and they should say yes.

Other things about this house[edit]

  • This is generally the first house in which the burglar appears. Make sure you have alarms in any room that contains valuables.
  • You probably don't want to move out with Zara, because her Social meter declines very quickly and it can be difficult to fulfill all her needs.
  • Don't bother trying to get Dudley/Mimi promoted. They will refuse to do any skill building. The highest they can get is Convenience Store Clerk, which brings in $110 per shift and keeps them out of your hair at night. If you're really adamant on getting them promoted, you can build a pool and eventually they will get the body points needed to get promoted, but it's generally not with the money and time.
  • I completed this walkthrough using the GameCube version. It might be different from the version for other consoles.
