A larger stage[edit]

Compared to the previous stages, this stage is much larger. It is also far less straightforward, and more maze like. Make sure that you collect the Flame Sword before entering the boss room. Fighting the Nigito is far more difficult without it.

Recommended route[edit]

Stuck at the bottom
If you fall down to the very bottom of the stage, occupied by a series of blue step blocks, without collecting the Ball from the boss room, you may become trapped down there with no way to climb back up to the top. Be very careful not to drop down there until you're ready to proceed to the exit.

Plotting your route carefully in this stage is much more important. The first two doors, door A and door B, are not worth going out of your way to visit. Door A contains no treasure, and Door B only contains an Apple. While the Apple may restore your health, you may lose more on the way to collect it. Instead, advance immediately to the W1 warp door. Climb down the first ladder that you reach, continue to the right, climb down the next ladder, and return to the left to find it. This will drop you down to the lower portion of the stage. (Both W1 and W2 are one-way warps.)

From here, climb down the ladder to the right, and run to the left to reach door C. Enter it and collect the third Sword, which sets your physical sword strike to its maximum power. Climb down the ladder outside door C, and run to the right. When you reach the pillars, carefully jump from the tall pillar on the left to the upper platform on the right. You need to leap from this pillar in order to reach the ladder that leads to door D, which contains the Flame Sword, your first magic weapon. From there, climb back down and enter door E to challenge the boss.

Boss: Nigito[edit]

HP: 810
Power: 400

This animated suit of armor is similar to the Mantle Skull, the boss from the previous stage. It walks forward and it sends fireballs out ahead of itself. Although it is slower than the Mantle Skull, the biggest difference between them is that the Nigito does not stop when it gets hit! The strategy of striking an enemy and freezing it in place until it dies will not work on the Nigito. This is why it's so important to find the Flame Sword.

Using the Flame Sword, you can attack from a better range than with the regular Sword. If the Nigito is approaching you, jump over it and begin assaulting it with the Flame Sword from behind. Be very careful not to get struck by the Nigito as it passes. You can defeat the Nigito with seventeen hits from the first Flame Sword (it only takes five with the third Flame Sword.)
