This mission returns you to Zocalo Plasa, where you need to storm the palace in an attempt to retrieve the football.
Zocalo Plasa[edit]
During equipment selection, be sure to carry a ZEUS-MPAR. This is optional, but is the easiest method to deal with a helicopter later in the mission.
The first step is to approach Zocalo Plasa. The best method (although not necessarily fastest) is to approach from the west - from this position, you can snipe at the few soldiers guarding the plaza with minimal return fire.
If you approach the plaza, you will be informed that there's a scrambler nearby, to the northwest. In addition, two tanks will approach to cover Zocalo Plaza, and will patrol in a simple path.
Scramblers[edit]
The first reported scrambler is located to the northwest of your position. It is guarded by solders equipped with silenced weaponry.
When you are near the scrambler, stand at a short distance, and shoot it. Once it is destroyed, there will be announcements of three other scramblers. In addition, there will be a helicopter that will proceed to harass you with machine gun and missile attacks.
- The second scrambler is due east of your position. A direct approach is possible, but leads you to a patrol and into the direct path of a sniper.
- The third scrambler is top the south-west, behind the gas station that was destroyed in the previous mission. Watch for two rooftop snipers, one on a southern building, and one hiding behind a billboard on the western building.
- The fourth scrambler is located south of the national palace. It is best attacked from the south.
National Palace[edit]
As soon as all scramblers are offline, you will receive two tanks to assist you in reclaiming Zocalo Plasa. Move them onto the north and south roads within the plaza, and wait for the tanks to be destoyed. Next, place them in strategic positions that lets them cover the door.
Enter the plaza, and an airplane will blow the door open. Enemies will also try to exit the plaza and attack, and are easily dispatched. If the tanks are placed properly, they will also take out the machine gun nest behind the palace entrance.
When you enter the palace, there will be rebels approaching from the stairs to the north, and a few rebels waiting on the second floor. There will also be rebels to the room south of the entrance.
Advance to the objective. There will be a large number of rebels attacking from both the northern and southern the flanks. When they are defeated, head to the waypoing. The general isn't there, and you will be directed to the APC for extraction (and the final mission).
