Pigs[edit]

Pigs are Tomba's primary enemy. They are introduced in the opening of the game, and feature on the cover art. They carry a pitchfork as their weapon. The most common pigs encountered in the game are the Koma Pigs; they have a red vest and pink skin.

Pigs give Tomba experience points when he leaps on them. Different pigs give Tomba different kinds of experience points; Koma Pigs give Tomba red experience and flying pigs give him blue experience.

Koma Pigs[edit]

The pink-colored pigs called Koma Pigs have no special powers, and can only attack with their pitchfork or getting contact with Tomba. These pigs are the most common pigs found in the first game and cannot be found in the second game. They give Tomba pink experience if leaped on. When exposed to peach flower-gas they transform into a Baby Pig.

Flying Pigs[edit]

There are flying pigs found in Lava Caves, carrying around a three-pronged trident. They have the ability to breath fire and transform into small bats at will. They give Tomba blue experience and are only found in Lave Caves.

Evil Pigs[edit]

The Evil Pigs are the main antagonists of Tomba!. They're a group of anthropomorphic pigs who transform various areas of the world with their strange magic. They have an affinity for gold and use their subordinate pigs to hoard it for them. According to the 100 Year Old Wise Man, the Evil Pigs mysteriously appeared wearing large purple robes. The actual appearances of each Evil Pig is more fitting with their individual abilities.

The Evil Pigs reside in their areas, that can be accessed via the Evil Pig Gates which can only be summoned with specific Evil Pig Bags. Tomba uses these items to seal each Evil Pig within, lifting the curse on an area which the captured Evil Pig was responsible for. There are eight Evil Pigs in the game, these being: Fire Evil Pig, Haunted Evil Pig, Earth Evil Pig, Stormy Evil Pig, Water Evil Pig, Forest Evil Pig, Deep Jungle Evil Pig, and the Real Evil Pig.

Biting Plants[edit]

Biting Plants(Kamituki in the Japanese version) is an egg shaped enemy found in the first game, that tries to bite Tomba if he is jumping over it. They can be found almost anywhere. Small Biting Plants can be found in Phoenix Mountain. A red larger type of Biting Plants can be found in the Masakari Jungle, that take double damage compared to the white ones.

Unlike most enemies in the game; this enemy cannot be defeated, however, if Tomba is using one of his weapons to strike it, they can be stunned for a short period of time, which is just enough to jump over it.

Kokka Birds[edit]

Kokka Birds are common enemies. Red Kokka Birds give Tomba red experience, just like the Koma Pigs and the Blue Kokka Birds found in the Haunted Mansion gives him blue experience.

Spiders[edit]

Spiders are found in the Watch Tower. They have the ability to climb walls and fly around. When flying, they can attack from above. When struck by any weapon, it will be flipped on its back. Tomba will take damage from its sharp legs when it is on its back. If the spider is struck once again on its back, it will be stunned for a few seconds. If the spider is struck for the third time, it will be defeated.

Flowers[edit]

Flowers are found in the Mushroom Forest. In their defensive position they resemble a small spike, but are otherwise a small red jumping flower with varying facial expression. They will react differently depending what mood mushroom you have eaten. When hit with blue powder they will turn into blue flowers and when a blue flower is thrown into a red flower they will leave behind a small mushroom that will transform Tomba into his taboo form.

Bosungee[edit]

Bonsugee is the name of the flying enemy found in the background of Mushroom Forest. It resembles a multicolored jellyfish. They are connected to the Monster Hunt event. A Bonsugee with different colors can be found in the Lumberjack Factory. To defeat the Bosungee you must jump on to the face of one to blind it, then jump atop the second and toss it into the first three times.

Needlegators[edit]

Needlegators is a type of blue colored crocodile enemy. It wields a large shell with spikes which must be knocked off in order to be defeated. They can climb on walls and ceilings and also drop down if Tomba is standing down below. They can be found in Phoenix Mountain.

Masakari Tribesmen[edit]

Found in the depths of the Masakari Jungle, these blue, spear-wielding folk are seemingly neutral story-wise, though for either purpose of the level, or just because of their primitive minds they serve as another enemy. They will attack you with spears and will jump up and down making them relatively difficult to get past. There is also a Tribesman who acts as an NPC for a small event involving his lost Funga drum.
