The second linear map of the game, Downhill Jam, takes place in a long, descending dam with water spouts, huge ramps, and overhead rails all over the place. Be careful not to fall into the water; skaters aren't very good swimmers.

20,000 / 40,000 Points[edit]

Once again, you don't have to go to the finish line to complete the level, so you're free to skate in any area until the time runs out. However, with so many inclines, backtracking is more difficult than the Mall level, especially if your stats aren't maxed out yet. The best place to score points has to be the half pipe on top of the damn. Not only does your skater get a lot of speed doing tricks there, but the ramps are very close to each other, so your skater gets a lot of air to perform signature moves. Another good spot for points has to be the "ft" gaps. After passing the area with the billboard, ramp up toward a large rock formation, which is where the fourth valve is located. With enough speed, go down the incline and ollie off the end to gain three or four "ft" gaps. Add air tricks and some spins and you'll get a very hefty combo.

Open 5 Valves[edit]

There are five valves that will let the water flow as soon as you touch them with a few placed on very high pipes.

The fourth valve.
  1. The first one is to the right after you pass start, resting on a water pipe high up in the air that's planted on a funbox. Ollie using the funbox for extra height and grind the water pipes to the end.
  2. The second one is placed on a kicker that launches you up to another pipe that's sticking out of a rock formation.
  3. Before the half pipe, there is a ramp to the left side. Launch off that ramp to grind the water pipe above. The third valve is on the middle of that pipe.
  4. After the large billboard, there is a small ramp that faces a very tall hill. Use the ramp to leap toward the top of the hill where the fourth value is mounted.
  5. The fifth valve is at the left path that leads to the finish line. It's screwed against a wall to the right.

Get S-K-A-T-E[edit]

Backtracking is difficult in this level and there's barely enough time to try again if you missed, so it's crucial to get these letters on the first try.

The letter E on the Neversoft Elec Co. rail.
  • S - A little after the start, there is a large ramp. Angle yourself toward the left when jumping off the ramp to reach the S high above.
  • K - Past the rocky arch, there is a ramp facing two parallel water pipes with the K on top. Ollie and grind for it.
  • A - The A is past the right side of the half pipe. You can get up that side by either grinding the overhead rail located just before the half pipe or lipping over the right edge of the half pipe.
  • T - Past the area with the billboard and just before the final stretch of the level, the T rests in the air. Air off a small bump in the middle to reach it.
  • E - The E is on the rail that makes up the Neversoft Elec Co. Gap. To get up there, build up speed with the quarter pipes at the area with the large grate. When you're ready, angle yourself slightly to the left when you air off the right quarter pipe and grind the rail above. You have to angle yourself very carefully as going too far left immediately blocks you from getting on the rail and you'll crash into the floor below, forcing you to build up speed for another attempt.

Hidden Tape[edit]

The hidden tape on the towering rock.

Before you reach the dam, air off the kicker at the left and grind the overhead rail where the third valve is. Once on the high part of the dam, skate ahead until you see another overhead rail to grind. At the other side, use the quarter pipe to air over the first crevice. Afterward, leap up toward the rocky bridge and cross it to reach the second crevice. Air over that with another quarter pipe and you should be facing a ramp that points toward four small rails with the tap on top of a tall rock formation. Fastplant off the ramp at full speed to obtain the tape.

Point Locations[edit]

100 Points
  1. Ahead of the starting point, there is a curved quarter pipe with a 100 in the air, easily within reach.
  2. Across the first 100 is another curved quarter pipe that has another 100 above it.
  3. At the right side of the half pipe, go up to the deck to find three boxes. There's a 100 hidden inside one of them.
  4. And another one is hidden in the second one.
  5. And another one is in the last one as well.
200 Points
  1. There is a 200 high above the air in the starting area. Use the wooden funbox with orange arrows painted on it to reach it.
  2. At the area where the hidden tape is, there's a kicker that points to a large Mountain Dew billboard. Get enough to speed to grind the top of the billboard for the 200 bonus.
500 Points
  1. To your right of the starting line, there's a towering deck with a 500 on top. To get there, use the quarter pipe to the left of the deck to gain some speed, then jump off the funbox in front of the deck just when you're at the edge. Any later and you'll just perform a regular ollie.
  2. Embedded in the rock arch is a rail stick out of the left side. Use a kicker to jump up there and grind for the 500.
  3. At the quarter pipe that's hugging the left side, there is a small gap with a very high pipe sandwiched between. The third 500 rests above that rail.
  4. Behind the rock outcropping is another pipe with a 500 on it. You'll have to ollie to the top of the rock to reach it, using one of the large kickers.
  5. When you're at the path that leads to the hidden tape location, there is a large crevice with a 500. Use the quarter pipe to air over the crevice.
  6. Continuing the hidden tape path, jump up to the rock bridge to find another 500 bonus resting there.
  7. The final 500 in the hidden tape path is over another crevice that requires your skater to air over it with a quarter pipe.

Gaps[edit]

  • 25 ft, 50 ft, 75 ft, 100 ft: At the fourth value, stay crouched as you go down a steep hill and launch off the ramp. The farther you go before you touch the ground, the more "ft" gaps you hit in one combo.
  • Huge Water Hazard Gap: At the ravine with the two parallel pipes, air over the entire ravine.
  • Neversoft Elec Co. Gap: At the area with the large grate, there is a rail high above at the right side. Get some speed and then launch up the right side of the grate area, angling yourself to the left. If done correctly, you should be able to grind that rail.
