Some torchlight achievements are a little inconvenient and require that you change maps for the achievements to unlock. Such achievements are marked with this map icon.

This icon is for the achievements based on the sum of all your characters. You do not have to do these achievements on one character. For example, for the Catch 100 Fish achievement, if you have two characters and one has caught 30 and the other has caught 70, you will get this achievement. The characters don't need to be retired from the other, it can be a completely separate one.

The Adventure Begins Find the entrance to the mine Simply find the entrance to the mine to the very left of the town you start in. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

Over the Brink Defeat Brink. Shortly after entering the mine you will encounter a monster named Brink, defeat him. Found on floor 4 of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

A Lich to Scratch Defeat the Overseer Found on floor 7 of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

Tree Hugger Defeat the Root Golem Found on floor unknown of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

When this Town's a Rockin' Defeat the Ember Colossus Found on floor unknown of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

Big and Green and Dead All Over Defeat Krag Found on floor unknown of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

Only a Master of Evil Defeat Alric This is the last boss before Ordrak. Found on floor unknown of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

Beast Slayer I Defeat Ordrak on Easy or Normal Ordrak is the final boss in the Mines, you must defeat him at least once with the difficulty set to Easy or Normal. Your current games difficulty can be viewed from your Journal (viewable by pressing J). Found on floor 35 of the Mine. This is a story line related achievement, you will obtain it in the process of finishing the game.

Swift Execution Defeat Ordrak in 8 hours or less Ordrak is the final boss in the Mines, you must defeat him at least once in eight hours or less on any difficulty. Your current games time can be viewed from your Journal (viewable by pressing J). Ordrak is found on floor unknown of the Mine.

Speed King Defeat Ordrak in less than 5 hours Ordrak is the final boss in the Mines, you must defeat him at least once in five hours or less on any difficulty. Your current games time can be viewed from your Journal (viewable by pressing J). Ordrak is found on floor unknown of the Mine.

Perfect Victory Defeat Ordrak with no deaths Ordrak is the final boss in the Mines, you must defeat him without dying. Ordrak is found on floor unknown of the Mine.

Ironman Victory Defeat Ordrak without buying anything (this is goal assumed) This achievement's description is incorrect. You are not only restricted from purchasing anything, you also must not buy any items and may not take items from the stash, though you can inherit an item. You also cannot talk to any merchants, so be careful you do not click on any of the dungeon merchants. Ordrak is the final boss in the Mines, it is assumed that you must reach Ordrak without buying any items. Ordrak is found on floor unknown of the Mine.

Pet achievements

Fetch a Fair Price Send your pet to town In the top left corner of the User Interface there is a button shaped like a money bag that will send your pet to town. Sending your pet to town will sell all the items it currently has in its inventory and bring you back the money obtained from selling.

Beast of Burden Fill your pet's inventory Your pet has its own inventory that you can view by pressing P. Filling this inventory will earn you the achievement.

Pet Trainer Equip a spell on your pet Open your pet's inventory window and equip any spell scroll into one of its two spell slots.

Shape-Shifter Change your pet by feeding it fish There are a verity of fish in the game, some of these will transform your pet into a monster for a specific length of time. Go fishing, find one of these fish and feed it to your pet.

Sorcelator's Servant Transform your pet into a Mimic Much like the achievement above you must find a fish that transforms your pet. In the description it will tell you what kind of monster it will transform your pet into. The name of the fish is Pocketfish.

Transmogrifier Permanently transform your pet There is a potion available from the potion seller that will transform your pet into a Cat or a Dog permanently. Transform your pet into the opposite species then its current type to get this achievement. The name of the potion that is transforms your pet into a dog is Dogfish. The name of the potion that is transforms your pet into a cat is Catfish.

Price of Loyalty Use 50 potions on your pet Your pets HP and MP can be recovered using potions much like your own. Using 50 potions on your pet will earn you this achievement. To quickly use potions on your pet you can use Shift+. Additionally if you have potions on your quick bar using Shift+ quick bar number will use the potion on your pet. Example: If 1 is your HP potion, pressing Shift+1 will use the HP potion on your pet. You can get this achievement quickly by standing back, setting your pet to Aggressive by clicking the Sword in the top left corner, then letting it fight ahead of you while you do nothing but heal it with small potions.

Fishing achievements

Angler Catch 50 fish Throughout the game you will find "Fishing Holes". Cast your rod and catch a total of 50 fish. The number of fish your character has caught is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J).

Fisherman Catch 100 fish Throughout the game you will find "Fishing Holes". Cast your rod and catch a total of 100 fish. The number of fish your character has caught is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J).

Fisher King Catch 1,000 fish Throughout the game you will find "Fishing Holes". Cast your rod and catch a total of 1,000 fish. The number of fish your character has caught is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J). You do not have to do this on one character. If you have two characters and one has caught 300 and the other has caught 700 you will get this achievement. (unconfirmed) The characters don't need to be retired from the other, it can be a completely separate one. (unconfirmed) You will earn this achievement after you've changed maps. (unconfirmed)

Enchanting achievements

The Need for Greed Suffer 20 disenchants from the enchanter Enchanting an item adds bonus stats to the item, however its not always successful. If you end up disenchanting 20 different times this consolation prize is yours. Enchanting price is based on the price of the item your enchanting. The quickest, cheapest way to get this is to go to the first floor of the Mines, kill a few monsters until you find a low level item. Keep enchanting this item over and over again until you've removed all the enchants of the item. Remember the achievement only shows up if you leave map, so leave map every so often to check if you've got the achievement. There are some mods that remove the chance for you to fail, if you have one of these you will not be able to disenchant (also called an item wipe).

Bum Luck Have an item disenchanted on the first enchantment attempt Enchanting an item adds bonus stats to the item, however its not always successful. If all of the enchants are removed the first time you attempt to enchant the item this consolation prize is yours. There are some mods that remove the chance for you to fail, if you have one of these you will not be able to disenchant (also called an item wipe).

Enchanted Successfully enchant one item 5 times Enchanting an item adds bonus stats to the item, however its not always successful. If you fail all enchants are removed. You must have five enchants at the same time. A good way to tell how many enchants your item has is by the disenchant percentage. If you put your item in and it says 12% chance of failing, stop right there. You have it. The chances of this happening can be increased with mods that decrease or eliminate the chance of enchantment wiping, but will make disenchant achievements impossible to get if not already obtained.

Enchantment Overload Successfully enchant one item 10 times Enchanting an item adds bonus stats to the item, however its not always successful. If you fail all enchants are removed. You must have 10 enchants at the same time. A good way to tell how many enchants your item has is by the disenchant percentage. If you put your item in and it says 22% chance of failing, stop right there. You have it. The chances of this happening can be increased with mods that decrease or eliminate the chance of enchantment wiping, but will make disenchant achievements impossible to get if not already obtained.

Gambling achievements

Lucky Gambler Gamble a unique item In Torchlight there is an NPC who sells items but doesn't tell you the stats of what your buying, so you don't know what your getting until after you've bought the item. If you gamble an item and its labeled as Unique (gold name) you will get this achievement.

Gambling Enthusiast Gamble 20 times In Torchlight there is an NPC who sells items but doesn't tell you the stats of what your buying, so you don't know what your getting until after you've bought the item. This is Torchlight's Gambling. Buy 20 different items from this NPC. You can see how many times you've gambled in your Journal (viewable by pressing J). You will earn this achievement after you've changed maps. (unconfirmed)

Quest achievements

Questor Complete 200 quests Complete 200 quests total, pretty self explanatory. If you plan on doing 100% of the achievement chances are your going to get this one done without any extra work.

Universally Understood Complete 25 Gar Quests This achievement refers to Gar, an NPC located next to the Shadow Vault in Torchlight, complete 25 of his quests and unlock this achievement.

Down the Hatch Complete 50 Hatch quests In Torchlight, below your stash, is a man who will give you quests. Completing these quests counts towards your Hatch Quest count. Do 50 and unlock this. Hatch begins offering quests after you open the first Waypont (which is after beating Brink). There is an 'introductory' quest as the first one. This quest is the equivalent of a glyph room. After which, each quest is full floor and a glyph room (with the item). A new quest will be offered under the conditions that you have reached that quest's tileset and finished all preceding quests (i.e. you can't access the Hatch Quest for Molten Prison until you have reached floor 21 and completed all Hatch Quest tilesets before it). Hatch no longer offer quests after you complete his eighth quest which uses the Black Palace tileset. Because Hatch offers a total of 8 quests on each character's adventure, you will need at least 7 characters to compile 50 quests With 3 quests available after you reach floor 5, you may wish to make several extra characters for the sole purpose of going through those floors and quests alone. Each run should take about 1-1 1/2hrs (~17-25 hrs total).

Monster kill achievements

Wabam! Kill 5,000 monsters Each kill is tracked and added to the counter, kill 5,000 enemies and you will get this. The number of monsters your current character has killed is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J). But this is the sum of all your characters.

Supreme Slayer Kill 50,000 monsters Each kill is tracked and added to the counter, kill 50,000 enemies and you will get this. The number of monsters your current character has killed is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J). But this is the sum of all your characters.

Trolling for Punishment Kill 25 Champion Trolls If you're having trouble getting trolls you can start the Shadow Vault all over again. Just reenter the Shadow Vault from town and run through it ignore the weak monsters looking for Champion Trolls. Champion trolls have clever gold colored named. If your really wondering "Was that a champion?" watch your Journal (viewable by pressing J) and watch your champion kill count.

Character achievements

Walkabout Take 25,000 steps Each step you take in game is tracked, once you've walked 25,000 steps you will get this. For the number of steps your character has currently taken is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J). You should be able to get this through a single play through of the game.

Superstar Achieve maximum fame Maximum fame is level 55.

---

Pension Plan Achieve player level 65 Grind your way to 65. Once you start getting high level skipping everything and killing only champions may be beneficial.

---

The Long Haul Achieve player level 100 Grind your way to 100. Once you start getting high level skipping everything and killing only champions may be beneficial.

---

Passing the Torch Retire a character Self explanatory.

---

Noble Lineage Retire two characters Another self explanatory achievement.

---

Line of Kings Retire over 300 levels worth of characters Yet another self explanatory achievement.

---

Hat Trick Beat the game with all three classes Beat the game with the 3 default classes.

Tormented Die 500 times This may take a while. If your far into a dungeon trying to do this open a town portal first! Nothing slower then running through the dungeon again. Make sure not to die on a Hardcore character.

Potion Whiz Drink 5,000 potions Set your pet to Passive mode and drink the smallest potions as your continually beat on.

Mod achievements

Mods are additions to the game that modify your game in some way. TorchLeech is a free program that provides you with a list of mods and allows you to install/uninstall and enable/disable mods easily. More information on mods can be found here.

Mod Squad 1 game mod installed Add one mod to get this. You will earn this achievement at the character menu after the game has loaded.

---

Mod Maniac 5 mods installed at the same time Add five mods to get this. You will earn this achievement at the character menu after the game has loaded.

---

Modpocalypse 10 mods installed at the same time Add ten mod to get this. You will earn this achievement at the character menu after the game has loaded.

---

Miscellaneous achievements

Gibbed Blow 25 enemies to pieces with critical strikes When you score a critical finishing blow the monsters will explode in a bloody mess. Do it 25 times and you've got yourself an achievement. Should come easily.

Ka-Chunk! Pull 100 levers Throughout the game there are levers that trigger various things like bridges, treasure rooms, traps, and puzzles. You should be able to get this through a single play through of the game.

---

Sir Mixes-a-Lot Successfully create 25 items using the transmuter In Torchlight there is an NPC who will combine items to create different, and sometimes better, items. Transmute 25 times and this achievement is easily yours. There is a list of transmutation recipes. The quickest way to get this achievement would probably be combining three low level HP potions, found at the shop nearby. Your current Transmute count can be found in your Journal (viewable by pressing J).

Rich Collect 250,000 gold The total amount of gold you've collected can be found in your Journal (viewable by pressing J). You don't need to have 250,000 in your inventory.

Deep Pockets Have 100,000 gold in your inventory Collect 100,000 gold without spending it. There are mods that can increase the amount of gold you get from selling items.

---

Epic Strike Do at least 10,000 damage to an enemy in a single strike If your having trouble getting this achievement, there are mods that increase the cap of your skills from 10 to 20 or 25 in a very balanced way.

The Horse Whisperer Achieved enlightenment by speaking with the horse 100 times At the left of Torchlight, behind the two goblins who work with gems, is a horse. Talk to the horse 100 times.

Master Smasher Smash 1,500 breakables The number of breakables your current character has destroyed is in your Journal (viewable by pressing J).

Deep Delver Reach the 50th floor of a dungeon Pretty straight forward. Its actually reach the 50th floor and then change maps.

True Delver Reach level 100 The description should read "Reach the 100th floor of a dungeon". It is not referring to character level. Its actually reach the 100th floor and then change maps.

Cash for Trash Sell 10,000 items to vendors Buying and re-selling items does not count towards this achievement.
