Part 1[edit]

Trojan Stage2-1.png
  • Once again, the stage will begin with Smasher approaching you from either direction.
  • As you approach the first jump tile, prepare to use it in order to strike the Red Archer at the top of the mountain for 2000 points. However, don't leave the ground until the surrounding area is cleared of Smashers, or they will gang up on you when you land.
  • Watch out for a Slasher after you pass the Jump Tile.

Boss[edit]

Armadillon is both easier and harder than his NES counterpart. He is easier because he does not leap forward as he tucks into a ball when you hit him, so you do not have to worry about immediately running away after you strike him. He is harder in that he does not always travel to the ends of the screen before changing direction. Sometimes, he may change direction in the middle of the screen, and there's not much you can do to predict that. The strategy is basically the same. Stand in the middle of the screen and jump over him as he rolls past you, and strike him as soon as he stands up. Armadillon will go down in four hits.

Part 2[edit]

  • Smashers will instantly appear in Armadillons cave as soon as the next section begins so stay alert.
  • As you approach the mountain where the next Red Archer awaits, the first Skyrogyro enemies will appear. They fly overhead and drop deadly explosive, which are as dangerous when they explode on the ground as they are when they fall from the sky.
  • You may be tempted to use the Jump tiles to take out the Red Archer or even the Skyrogyros themselves, but this may put you in greater jeopardy than if you simply jump forward, and hold your shield over your head while you move through the air. This method gets you to the end of the stage much more quickly, and it helps you avoid the threat of the explosives.
  • When Smashers begin to appear again, the Skyrogyros will not replace themselves any longer.

Boss[edit]

The Goblin is a boss that requires a bit of patience. The worst thing you can do is to chase him around the screen. It isn't necessary, and you'll never catch him. After waiting on the opposite side of the screen for a while, the Goblin will return to your side of the screen on his own. If you stand slightly off-center to either side of the screen, you should be in a good position to strike at him when he gets close to you, and block his shurikens with your shield when he is far away. The Goblin will go down in three hits.

NES differences[edit]

Part 1[edit]

Trojan Stage2-1 NES.png
  • Since there is no place to collect Jump boots from, you are completely at the mercy of the Red Archers, and there are quite a lot more of them in this version. Simply time your progress through the mountains so as not to get struck by the arrows.
  • Remember to back away from Armadillon after you strike him or you will get hit by him when he leaps forward. With the power increase, Armadillon takes four hits to defeat. Without it, he takes eight.

Part 2[edit]

Trojan Stage2-2 NES.png
  • The NES version of this stage actually contains a pond which you must wade through in order to reach the end. It slows you down and you must still avoid the Skyrogyros which drop explosives from up above.
  • Two new enemies show up in the water; Piranhas which leap out of the water in an attempt to bite your head, and a strange fire breathing merman who only appears near the end of the pond. The fish move quickly and can take you by surprise.
  • The Goblin doesn't throw as many shurikens in this version of the game, but he takes more hits to defeat; four with the power increase, and eight without it. The same strategy can still be used.
