Processors[edit]
CPU | Cost |
---|---|
20 Ghz | 250c |
60 Ghz | 1000c |
80 Ghz | 1300c |
100 Ghz | 3000c |
120 Ghz | 5000c |
150 Ghz | 8000c |
Turbo 200 Ghz | 12000c |
Processors increase the speed of CPU intensive tasks, such as cracking passwords, deciphering elliptic curve protection, or even moving a file.
The initial gateway has only 1 CPU, but it can be replaced by a newer one. They have no trade-in value.
Memory[edit]
Amount | Cost | Cost/8Gq |
---|---|---|
8 Gq | 3000c | 3000c |
16 Gq | 5500c | 2750c |
24 Gq | 8000c | 2667c |
32 Gq | 11000c | 2750c |
Memory is used to store files on your system. Regardless of which option you choose, memory is composed of 8 Gq chips that take one slot within the gateway.
The most cost effective choice is 24 Gq bundles.
Modems[edit]
Speed | Cost |
---|---|
1 Gq/s | 1000 |
2 Gq/s | 2000 |
4 Gq/s | 4000 |
6 Gq/s | 6000 |
8 Gq/s | 8000 |
10 Gq/s | 10000 |
Security[edit]
Type | Cost |
---|---|
Self Destruct | 20000c |
Motion Sensor | 10000c |
There are two security systems.
The first, the motion sensor, detects any movement physically near your gateway (as long as the driver is running). It lights a red bar underneath the time controls when there is significant activity near your system, such as during a raid. It turns yellow if there's activity that is known to be harmless, such as a hardware installation.
The second, the self destruct, allows detonating explosive charges on the gateway to dispose of any evidence. It is not useful without the motion sensor, but there are other methods to cover your tracks. Note that explosives only protect you if there is a raid in progress; if triggered before the raid starts, law enforcement will simply collect evidence of malicious activity on your new system.
Gateways[edit]
Gateways are the main computers you will use, with varying CPU, Memory, Bandwidth and security options. You start with the Gateway ALPHA, and can trade about 25% of the cost towards a newer gateway.
If your gateway is not responding when you try to login, you can either wait a while, or spend 1000c on a service charge to get it swapped with the Gateway ALPHA.
Purchasing a gateway will require you to disconnect from your old gateway, and reconnect to the Uplink server.
Name | Cost | CPU | Memory | Bandwidth | Security |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Gateway ALPHA | 5000 | 1 | 32Gq | 1Gqs | No |
Gateway ALPHA /CPU | 10000 | 2 | 32Gq | 1Gqs | No |

The KRONOS Corp 80-860 Gateway | 28000 | 2 | 64Gq | 4Gqs | 1 |
