Hello Arrow! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the community portal talk page. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking
or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! --

Hi. You're doing some good work on the Battlestations: Midway guide, which is great, but there are a few things you could improve when editing. :-) Firstly, the "num" parameter of the {{Header Nav}} template should only be used for the main page of a guide, and not its subpages (because it's used to count the number of guides and their completion levels, not the number of pages). Secondly, there's no need to manually put pages in the sub-pages category, as {{Header Nav}} does that automatically. You can see what I mean for these two points by looking at this diff of one of the Battlestations pages. Finally, are you sure you're using {{wip}} correctly? It should only be put on pages if you're currently doing a lot of work on them, or if you plan to come back in a short while and massively expand them — the pages you've written already look quite complete to me, although I don't own the game so I can't know for sure; it's for this reason I've left them on, and it's up to you to decide whether you want to keep them or not. Thank you, and happy editing! :-) --DrBob (talk) 11:26, 29 November 2007 (CST)
Check out StrategyWiki:Guide/Organizing the pages#Walkthrough. Hopefully that helps. The walkthrough page varies from game to game. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 20:27, 30 November 2007 (CST)
Being a sysop means I can just help fight vandals, but my main focus involves helping as an editor (ie. helping other guide writers with their guides). What you're probably looking for is the ImageMap extension we have installed. It lets you link different parts of images to different places. However, I'd recommend against imagemaps, since the default behaviour of images is to link to their image page, so people may not know to click links within the image to get to the relevant section. My suggestion would be to move the Multiplayer Maps section below the Getting Started section, and put the banner on the right side under the nations listing. As for subpaging it, just add the relevant links to the Battlestations: Midway/Table of Contents under the Getting Started section, and just cut/paste the information from the Getting Started page to those pages. Go ahead and try it out, if anything goes wrong, just leave me a message. By the way, Battlestations: Midway has been selected as this months promising guide of the month (check the front page). -- Prod (Talk) 23:18, 2 December 2007 (CST)

Hey Arrow, when using {{cleanup}} you should use the first parameter to inform editors of what you think specifically needs cleaning up. Also putting the date in there will help us to understand how long its been since it was tagged. Thanks man, --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 11:00, 12 January 2008 (CST)
Hey Arrow. First, let me thank you for showing some initiative on your part to help make the site better. This is definitely sysop behavior, and like we said last night, you show a lot of promise towards becoming one. Now, the tags that you added to the Lost Viking pages are understandable, but what you should try to understand is that not every user is interested in establishing guides worthy of "feature" status. New User did a lot of hard work to provide the Lost Vikings solutions that he did, and if that's all he's interested in doing, than that is enough and we should thank him for it, not chastise him for doing more. Some content providers are going to be obsessive like us, and some will be more casual. We want to encourage participation at all levels, because, although Lost Vikings is not a feature level, it's better than having no Lost Vikings entry at all. Someone else might come along and help develop the guide further, whereas they might not have been inclined to contribute if New User's work was not there at all. Please edit your comment to New User to take some of the "flame" out of it. Thanks. Procyon (Talk) 11:19, 12 January 2008 (CST)
P.S. One of the pages you tagged with cleanup, Astro Robo SASA/How to play, was mine ;) so if you want it cleaned up, you're gonna have to let me know how. Cya.
I reverted you here because we need all the contributors to comply with the GFDL. As the history in WikiBooks is gone, we need to keep this on the talk page or in the history.--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talk • contribs). 11:10, 14 January 2008 (CST)
I reverted it because it violates content/style layering. (Basically, you're changing the content to change how it's displayed, which is wrong. What should be done to get that effect is to use CSS to render the text in capitals.) I've changed a few other instances where you've used caps in such a manner, but I'm sure I've missed some. If you know where the ones I've missed are, would you mind lowercasing them please? Thanks. --DrBob (talk) 13:39, 15 January 2008 (CST)
Feel free to move this as you like. I appreciate you taking on the MrSue nightmare. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 01:53, 9 April 2008 (CDT)
I noticed you marked the Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath/New units page to be deleted soon from the ToC. Why is that? -- Prod (Talk) 09:25, 10 April 2008 (CDT)
Also that page is also to list modified units like the Vertigo have upgrades and the Zocom Mammoth Tank does not have railguns. That page along with the game has many changes.
Why was this edit reverted (apart from being badly written)? -- Prod (Talk) 20:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps a template for the listed attributes for each unit would be appropriate? If you need help creating one, just let me know. --DrBob (talk) 14:14, 10 April 2008 (CDT)
Why did you create this? No pages link there. --DrBob (talk) 16:57, 20 April 2008 (CDT)
Hi Arrow. I'm surprised by the names of the images you recently uploaded. You know better than this. If you get around to it, could you please reupload those files with better names? Something with at least C&C3 in front or something, that's all that's really required. Thanks. Procyon (Talk) 12:56, 6 May 2008 (CDT)
You better Be right about your edits. If you think your edits are better than MrSues then please if you remove images please find their replacements.(75.22.87.183 16:13, 2 June 2008 (CDT))
Everyone is not in love with your edits. Your edits include targeting pages that has been started by another user that has been at that page first including CNC pages, flaming others and finally you are just like that Dark Jedi Darth Vader. We do not like your edits because they are boring and not very interested and worst my computer internet browser refuse to load when I go to a wiki. Every time I go to another website like Wikia the F***ing Firefox wont load that website.(76.211.140.246 16:31, 21 July 2008 (CDT))
Darth Vader, huh? Well I find your lack of faith in my edits...DISTURBING.
But in all seriousness, if you think you can do a better job, then go ahead and edit me. Then Skizzerz and company can revert it if they want. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 08:39, 22 July 2008 (CDT)

Nope, IRC is working just fine. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 19:13, 24 June 2008 (CDT)
On Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars/Nod buildings there's red text in some of the infoboxes, yet no key at the top tells me what this indicates. Either it should be removed, or made understandable. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 02:02, 7 August 2008 (CDT)
The achievement page deserves to go on it's own, and the cheats don't really belong there. I don't think there's a problem with it being alone, but if there's another page you can put it on, that should be fine too. -- Prod (Talk) 09:11, 7 August 2008 (CDT)
Congratulations Arrow :) Welcome aboard. Procyon (Talk) 21:36, 23 August 2008 (CDT)
If the page contained profanity or something that should not be visible, do not use the default summary when deleting the page. Check the log entry of your most recent deletion if you don't know what I mean by that. --Skizzerz 20:16, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

There are indeed timed hits in SM:RPG. You press the attack button again just as an attack is about to hit and you'll score a critical. For example, Mario will punch and then uppercut. Mallow with punch with one hand and then again with both. It should work on an emulator too.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 01:52, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Those images look like they're taken from the game or other literature from the developer, so yes they're not covered by that wiki's licence, and you're free to use them. Basically, any publically-available reference content, or images from the game, is free use and can be used on StrategyWiki. --DrBob (talk) 17:53, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey, we could use your opinion on the Dog's Life nomination now that you and Notmyhandle are the only two left undecided. Thanks, - najzere 23:46, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
For the lulz. I didn't know I could do that. What's even more surprising was how I was able to unblock myself. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 17:54, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I saw that you started deleting some of the pages I'd marked, so I thought I'd go ahead and drop a note here: all images on Devil_May_Cry_4/Achievements have duplicates that are named (more or less) the same without the DMC4 prefix. One of the moves apparently was messed up pretty badly, since I found the file through the double redirect report. I fixed the page to link to the DMC4 files, so I was going through and checking to make sure they didn't have other links to the files, then marking for deletion. Thanks for the help.--~Vizeroth~-- 06:18, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Looks like there's quite a bit of information on that site already. It's going to be hard to get a good community around that game with a better wiki resource already out there. They seem to be trying to put together all information about the game. Our focus is on the guide. So the questions are, how much of that is useful, how much would people actually come to see, and how much is required to support the actual walkthrough? -- Prod (Talk) 20:24, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
You can view the IRC banlist by typing "/mode #strategywiki +b". Once the list appears, find the hostmask of the one you want to remove, then type "/mode #strategywiki -b <that hostmask>", such as "/mode #strategywiki -b Wolverine!*@*"
You can also set timed bans that expire on their own. Type "/msg chanserv help tban" for more info on that. --Skizzerz 21:08, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
The custom map levels are some of our most visited pages. We should only cover the major ones. DotA even has a Wikipedia article. -- Prod (Talk) 15:54, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

we may have a problem with the presintation according to scott we need a VGA cable to connect the laptop to the podium and then use the input switching on the remote. do you have a VGA cable or are we going to have to think of something else real quick —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dragonsl5 (talk • contribs) .
I saw the edit to the main page of Pacific discouraging users from commenting on historical inaccuracies, and I had an idea for you. You could create a Historical comparison or Historical inaccuracies page in the Appendix so people have a place to go with that stuff, instead of putting in the guide. I know that ultimately it shouldn't be on the guide at all, but if there is a high occurence of those types of edits (you'd know better than me how it went with Midway), then it might be an improvement. - najzereT 00:22, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Hey, and thank you - Its good to see you substantiated on my sub-par writings! ;-)
From now on with reference to the image naming, I will make sure to differentiate BSP from BSM, thanks for the heads up.
With reference to the Tone-class information, it is most likely inaccurate - the armour difference I derived from the 4 star rating on the pull out poster that comes with the game, whereas the Mogami and Takao get just three. In future I shall make sure this information is more accurate.
I wasn't aware of the Prima guide preview, but I'm not sure if you think I used it or that you are warning me to be wary of it, either way I will stay clear of it. One question I had though:
Where do you recommend I get my information regarding armament from if not Wikipedia? The game itself doesn't go into much depth, any help would be much praised :-).
Seeing as I'm new here, could you point me in the direction of the easiest way to contact you and Incline (or is User Talk the best way?), I'd be happy to help if you want me to. Cont.
Thanks again. I do have Midway, and in future I will look up the information.
A good idea might be a good idea to use a combination of Wikipedia, the website and game descriptions and Midway to roughly work out the armament specifications, then as you said just fire them in game to get the numbers? It seems the most accurate way, but yes very time consuming!
The pull out poster in the game box, how accurate is that generally? For example if one ship has 3 stars and one 4, you can generally assume that it is preferential, or is it better not to rely on it?
Final thing, with the game guide for mission no.7 in the Japanese campaign (invasion of midway), I found it much easier to launch two fighter squadrons and six Val squadrons to attack the airfields - the overwhelming as stated in the guide never really happens otherwise and you get way too many enemy planes for you to handle. Also, the sub is only available if you get a gold in a previous mission. But I guess its up to judgement and playing style whether thats a better technique.
AstonMartin22 16:19, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Just a heads up, I'm starting my research on the Yamato using BSM & BSP to get accurate armament info. =)
AstonMartin22 10:08, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Any ideas for the Shoho? I can only find it on the 'Saving the Shoho' mission, and the fact you cannot control it, the lighting situation and the constant enemy attacks make it difficult to recognise armaments. So far I've worked out the basics - on each side there are two AAs and two artillery guns, somewhere I have the rough measurements too.
Well I mean I tested them a fair bit, they are useful against pretty much any land batteries and even have primitive use against headquarters or stuff like shipyards, but its up to you how you want to class them?
I'll beat you to it and check it out tomorrow =P If you are right i'll make the changes.
Just doing the G3M Nell, I checked out the rockets and you are right so made the appropriate changes.
Thanks
Sorry for the little progress recently, tied down with exams =(, but I'll put up the next one either tonight or tomorrow.
Could you take a look at this diff and patrol it if its legit, or patrol/revert it if its not? Thanks, --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 19:22, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
I only wish I could have done more in the time, but between work experience and revision I'm finding it hard to get anywhere near the 360, but I'll hopefully do the next one soon.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I disagree with your recent deletions of those Battlestations: Pacific pages. The pages weren't vandalism, and I don't think deletion powers should be used as an editing tool to give yourself a blank slate to work with. ZuuL155 has as much right to edit the wiki as anyone else, but now his contributions are completely gone, and if no one remembers to restore those pages after you've recreated them, he won't even get an entry in the pages' histories. Perhaps they weren't as well written as the other pages, and didn't conform to the same layout, but I have to think that any helpful information a user was willing to give is better than a red link. I'll leave whether to restore them up to you, but I wanted to air my concerns for your consideration. Thanks, — najzereT 16:11, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
While you're working on pages (I'm assuming offline, since nothing is happening on the pages), what is the harm in keeping the existing walkthrough up? At worst it doesn't look like the rest of the pages in the guide and at best it helps someone who was looking for information. Having a blank page for days at a time on the other hand doesn't help anyone. I'm trying to understand why you think the rules on blanking content are somehow different for you. — najzereT 15:15, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Hey, just a heads up, but you might want to watch the edits a little closer when you're patrolling RC. This edit needed some major work (content below Footer Nav, drivel) and the huge series of rapid-fire edits to the Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings pages should have sent up a copyright warning flag. If other admin are rushed, they might skip patrolled edits to save time, so it's kind of important that you don't sign off on them unless they're okay. Thanks, — najzereT 16:34, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Hey, when you get a chance, would you take a look through Special:UnusedFiles and see if there are any images you can use or get rid of? I know you're in the middle of making the guide, so I assume most will be used as you go along, but some are a couple months old and I wouldn't want you to forget about them! :D — najzereT 20:26, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi, you appear to be undoing all my edits on the BSM page. Why do you keep doing that? 81.174.250.56 11:34, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
